I really like, respect and support people like you people that do commercial spearfishing because its the most selective way for hunting fish and you only kill what you want and what you need. I am only 15 but i really like spearfishing since its selective and you get to see what is down there in the depth even if you dont get a fish sometimes you still really enjoy it.

I could tell it was opening day, tame groupers :) I'm 84 with 60 years of shooting. 20 on scuba and the last 40 free diving. I don't like commercial but fully understand why you do. Great video and I like your attitude and demeanor. You are obviously a good athlete and quit fit. Best wishes in the future. I can't take the heat or cold so I shoot vicariously on you tube vids. Man I can't even see the fish but you on point like I always tell you man what I like about the spear fishing I mean sometimes you catch the big ones on the top but like the Cobia or the Goliath or the snappers you get to choose you know really getting nice fish all the time I don't know I just like it I think you do better spearfishing than you do on top water but sometimes your videos watching it watching you fish with the poles you do good with that too man you know so and that would be a good thing for you to get with deer meat because he's he's all right I ain't going to lie to you I don't know if he's as good as you but he's all right all right bro keep them videos coming man living that life in Paradise

Hey great video! This is the first time I see a commercial spearfisher from the US. Most spearos I see on youtube are hobby divers. I am from Vietnam and most of the best divers we have here are commercial spearfishers. Fishing is their full time job but I haven't seen anyone in the West making a full time shooting fish for profit. Seems like it's simpler to just run spearfishing charters, better for the environment too.

WOW! When I lived in the keys there was no closed season on Grouper, and no limit. We could fish them or spear them all year round. But that was the 90s. We use to be able to collect as many Queen Conch as we wanted. The one year they closed that fishery. Said it was a "5 year moratorium", 10 years later it was still closed for taking conch. Same with Jew Fish. Once they take it away, they never give it back.

Aaron - superb dives and congrats on paying a few bills! The one thing that I never hear about is how you pay your divers. With all of the close-calls with the guys in the gray suits, no matter how much any of your co-workers love to dive, they have to get paid at some point! I love feeling like I'm diving right next to you, but it is so frustrating seeing a big black grouper take your spear into the rocks, If you had tanks on, it would be so much easier to wait it out with the fish on the bottom, but you've got to get top side for a fresh air pit stop.
