So I have this same monitor it turns on, it only display with a very low light like the flex is damaged or something, and after a while, or if I hit it, it will come up, what can I do

Is it safe to remove certain electronic components from a PCB used in a monitor to replace similar components in another monitor? Assume the values match or close. Have a couple of Dell monitors - not the same model

Hi , there, yesterday I spill some beer on my Monitor Dell P2717H ( not much but it went through power button and utilities buttons... I opened the monitor and washed the electrical module! I though it will work but today monitor just randomly switch on and off ( I think module is done ) I find the spare one used for 10 bucks but I not sure how to get the old one from control board? I see that you just pulled this one out?! Can you help me with this situation? P.S. Part number of module is 748.A1B03.0011 (Function key BD L5265-1)

No sure. The way to find out is search for that panel on each model and lookup the model number for that panel specifically. Compare and you will have your answer

The price to get a new screen for replacement makes it not worth it. You are better off getting another monitor. You can try to remove parts from your damaged monitor to sell like electronic boards and stand.

"Usually it isn;t worth it..." Dammit, I've just broken my Dell U2717D, still usable but not in a few weeks/months unfortunetly. LCD black area is getting bigger and bigger. Only solution is a new monitor you say ?

When I researched the pricing for LCD replacement, it didn't make sense to pay almost 140 for a monitor that was selling for 180 new a the time. The parts removed and sold is generally better was to get back some cash to use toward a new monitor.

Have you ever seen a problem with quite similar Dell monitor that a screen glass is separating from the body? I can see illumination leds in the gap. Is it LCD itself is separating or it's just loose in the frame? If I push it back it stays in place for a while. The next day it is opened again (like 1-2 mm gap, everything else works fine, no issues with the image)

@@donalexey i opened the display their is nothing worry would dust to in inside as the panel and edge plastic panel are 2 different parts panel is glued it does not have space for dust, let it their no need to worry . its just cheap plastic qaulity.

I don't think it will work because the resolution is different between old and new monitors. you can try to look up the part number of each and compare them to see if the manufacturer say that they are similar.

@@smartflips He means the metal frame that holds the input controller board and that other board I believe you said is the power board. What do you call that assembly? How do you get a part number for it? I have a Dell Ultrasharp U2718Q that's in fine shape except for the mini displayport input, I want to replace the input controller board only but if I have to buy the whole assembly I might do that. How do I search for the board or the assembly? Where can I buy it?

When I searched for the prices I did find out that it wasn't worth it to buy an lcd screen. Instead, parts of the monitor remove the good parts that you can sell on eBay to get back some of the money back that you can use to buy yourself another one.is just not worth it To buy lcd screen for replacement.

Current DELL monitors are really rubbish, butter plastic, latches break, when opened they startle, it looks like a vacuum cleaner filter with so much dust, even saving on screws the miserable ones from Dell are doing, I have a Dell P2317H and the motherboard is fixed by the even 4 screws that stay in the foot socket! I have a 2209WA fully shielded, plastic doesn't break, latches don't break, you can disassemble it any number of times and not a single dust gets in, but it's heavy! Current Dell monitor is "disposable".🤮🤮
