*What’s your favorite Gen 1 Pokemon?*

The trip down memory lane was so surreal. I lost a childhood friend of mine almost 2 years now and we played every Pokémon game up until around platinum on ds while going into 7 grade. It’s wild to think we were destroying so many skyridge cards to scan on our game boys. Seeing the artwork of all the older wizards of the coast packs got me happy and emotional. Sometimes you never really appreciate the small thing until years and years past by. Long time fan of what you do for this community. Keep rocking Leon!

My favorite is Golbat. Because here in Germany Burger Kings gave out plush Pokemon with their kids meal and I drew Golbat. Pure nostalgic memories!

Mewtwo! His story is a tragic one and if you go inside the Cinnabar Mansion you can see all they did to him, truly a great backstory for one of the best pokemon ever made.

Favorite Gen 1 pokemon is definitely Gengar. I love his tragic backstory, it makes him a very complex and relatable pokemon.

My favorite Gen 1 pokemon of all time is Eevee. Eevee is a very basic Pokémon on the surface in terms of what it can do on its own, but its ability to evolve into multiple different types of pokemon is so cool. They've been able to use this ability throughout the history of Pokemon, and I love seeing the creativity Eevee allows. Also, Eevee is an incredibly cute Pokemon, and the name fits so well. It's just one of the coolest ideas for a Pokémon.

Gengar is for sure my favorite, his abandonment story hits my soul but overall he’s the coolest, strongest dude 🥺💜

Squirtle is my all time fave. The first game I played was Blue so I wanted the game mascot so chose Squirtle as my starter and he’s been my fave ever since. ‘Here comes the Squirtle Squad’ was then my fave episode in the Anime as well. This was an amazing video!

Pikachu - Was the main reason why I love Pokemon and what got me to constantly watch the series and always love pulling any Pikachu card 💛

Here’s me shooting my shot 😊 Favorite Gen 1 Pokémon, as cliché as it is has to be Mew. I just love how elusive and mysterious Mew is. Also the playful nature of Mew is super cute and finally Mew is so darn cute you just wanna cuddle it.

My favorite Gen 1 Pokemon has to be Magikarp, because I too only know how how to Struggle. But also because it evolves into one of the most bad to the bone Pokemon.

My favorite pokemon from gen 1 and from all time is pikachu. Being a little kid playing pokemon yellow as my first experience to pokemon games will always stick with me forever! Playing with the cards and watching the show after school will always be the best memories.

Great video! I always enjoy these videos of opening 1 of every pack; it's a great way to show people newer to the hobby what we were able to experience since the very beginning! As far as the question, my favorite gen 1 Pokemon, and favorite Pokemon of all time, is Gengar! I've always been drawn toward ghost Pokemon for some reason, primarily because I think their attacks are awesome, but Gengar appealed to me right away as a kid and has been my favorite ever since!!

My favorite gen 1 Pokémon is Poliwhirl. Love the design and the fact that it's Red's first Pokémon in the manga

My favorite Gen 1 Pokemon is Slowbro. Mon is underappreciated and the mysterious evolution of a Shelder supposedly helping them evolve but then other times they just evolve from battle. Also they are said to be able to unevolve. I kinda like that they either messed up the continuity or its just more mysterious than we know. Also in the game Regenerator plus its physical bulk is **chefs kiss**

Gyarados. Was always my favorite Pokemon to use in the original games. Those games got me through some tough times as a kid. didn't really get the opportunity to collect the cards but I was lucky enough for the games and the show. love that you are still a kid on the inside and sharing your love for the cards and knowledge with all of us.

Gotta be charmander for me. Was my first ever gen 1 starter. So many memories. Christmas morning, 2002, getting pokemon Ruby while my friend got Sapphire. Sitting outside on the doorstep for 4 hours straight playing the games together. That excitement, the rush of playing my first pokemon game. Then came pokemon fire red. Getting to experience the original generation but remastered, after I'd had the cards and watched the anime for years. That feeling is pure nostalgia and has kept me as a fan my whole life. Very glad I was part of the early days of pokemon.

Favorite gen 1? The one and only Pikachu- in particular, Ash’s pikachu. The attitude it had towards Ash in the beginning and how it grew to a loyal companion. Plus, pikachu is so cute!

Pikachu is my son's favorite which has also became mine. Pokemon has altered my son's and I life path forever, in the best possible way imaginable. When I brought out my old sports cards when he was 5 he at the same time found Pokemon and introduced it to me. Colin is now 7yrs old and I feel our bond is unbreakable and all is owed to Pokemon. Thank you for what you do!

Snorlax was always my favorite gen 1 pokemon. I have always enjoyed my sleep and he will forever be my spirit animal! Loving the video and it has been very informative as my 4 kiddos have just gotten into pokemon cards and reignited my love for collecting them!

SQUIRTLE!!! Squirtle is my favorite Gen 1/all time Pokémon. I had this squirtle plush as a kid and I used to bike to a nearby American flag in the neighborhood and pledge allegiance to squirtle 😂 I imagined that every day that I pledged, my little plush Pokémon would become more & more alive. I even played through one of the game boy games with my squirtle holding an everstone and never evolving lol Happy to see that squirtles your favorite as well! As someone who just got back into card collecting with 151, SOOO fun to see these opening and all the packs I missed during my broke years hahah Nidoking was always my favorite, using thrash at early levels in Pokémon BLUE and earthquaking everything in the elite four was epic. He was also cool as heck in the show!

Favorite would have to be Cubone! There's just something special about him. Love the background story about him even though it is sad... Also am super fascinated by the theories on how he wears a skull. The one that people speculate that Cubone's come to be when Charmander's parents die and he wears his mothers skull for protection!

Meowth is definitely my favorite because of the show, he’s a big ole goof and that dang lil coin on his head is pretty neat

Leon, thank you so much for the video! Seeing you open all the packs from your personal collection was a great treat. My favorite Gen 1 Pokemon is Nidoking. I have always thought he looked so cool. Not to mention him having Horn Drill back in the day was such a cool risk reward concept to me. Still one of my top 5 to this day out of all the generations.

Raichu is my favorite gen 1 pokemon. I have always been a fan of electric type pokemon because they are typically seen as wimpy and Raichu never really gets its due because of Pikachu's popularity, but it has strong moves, is very fast and very strong if you use it correctly!

Definitely Blastoise for me! Blastoise's artwork drew me in when I saw him for the first time on Pokemon Blue and it was love at first sight! Who doesn't love a giant turtle with two cannons on his back?

Mewtwo is the best in my opinion because of how little he cares about humans and just wants to help the pokemon. I love this video!!!! i watched it all and forgot to eat lunch!

My favorite gen 1 Pokémon is acually venusaur because he seems so amazing and strong and the mega evolution makes the tree plant on its back really stand out.

My favorite Pokemon of gen 1 is jolteon. The spikes on it and the fact that it can learn thunder was a great Pokemon league tank ⚡️

Gyarados - growing up playing Pokemon red/blue I just always loved the look of a Gyarados. What made me love it even more was using Hyper Beam, the graphics and sound on GameBoy Color were the best!

Without a doubt my favourite gen 1 Pokémon is dragonite. A massive friend shaped dragon that's also an absolute powerhouse. Also has some of the best card art in my opinion. The gold full art in evolutions and the alt art in evolving skies is in top 10 favourite cards of all time.

My favorite Gen 1 has gotta be my first Pokemon Squirtle, I would always go out of my way to overpower it beyond reason. Loved the video

Gen 1 has lot of great Pokemon but I'd say my favorite is Lapras. Great design and really useful in game and in the anime. I used to imagine what it would be like to travel like Ash on Lapras as he cruised along the Orange Islands. Lapras literally and figuratively carried Ash in the Orange League. I cried when they parted in the anime and got excited when they met again. Coolest Pokemon ever!

Generation 1 favorite pokemon is Mew, not because its powerful or rare or mythical or legendary but simply because in mewtwo strikes back with the scene where mew and mewtwo fight, ash gets turned to stone and it was a teary scene showcasing alot of emotion and mew was just so happy and cheery and innocent it really captivated my child hood.

My favorite Pokemon from Gen I is Mew. What I like about him is that you need to have a pure heart in order to see him, so Mew summons in us the best of us, the purity of our hearts.

Such a difficult decision to choose one. I would have to go with Dragonite as my favourite generation 1 Pokemon. I think Dragonite has one of the best designs in generation 1 and I like dragons. I have so much nostalgia from the video games & watching Pokemon on TV when I was a kid. Dragonite was the one that stands out to me the most and I remember how mysterious this Pokemon was in the show. On another note, keep up the great work on these videos! I notice all the edits(sound effects, images popping up) and really adds to the video and make it more enjoyable.

I'm probably too late for the base set packs but my favorite Gen 1 Pokemon...I'll say Dragonair, because I think it's pretty underrated and sometimes forgotten, plus I just love that Dragonair artwork from base set. So magical and mysterious.

Although I love Charmander, I have to go with Eevee! Eevee is special to me because it was the first Pokemon card that i recieved from a friend on the playground in elementary school. Eevee was literally my introduction to Pokemon and I have loved Eevee (and Pokemon) ever since!

Squirtel is my fav because he always tried so hard to win and got exhausted when he ran out of energy. Poor thing was the embodiment of never giving up.

Gengar is my favorite Gen 1 Pokémon. My favorite color has always been purple and I remember way back when in the original show seeing him fight Nidorino and that he was so cool and spooky looking. Plus his art work throughout the later packs have always been enjoyable my son also enjoys him he calls him purple ghostmon 😂

My favorite gen 1 Pokémon is Charmander. He was my first starter in fire red, and the episode when he keeps ash warm in the cave during the snowstorm really hit the feels, even to this day.

Gyarados. It was tough evolving it back in Gameboy Pokémon Blue/Red/Yellow version when I was playing as a kid. But once I had it, it was owning. I finished the game with it as one of my Pokémon. Full of memories.

My first ever set I opened was this year with 151, I’ve always wanted to collect but only ever wanted gen 1 cards without having to pay the gen 1 prices haha. I’ve been LOVING getting into pokecontent this year and I will definitely be doing more consuming in 2024! As for my favourite gen 1 it has to be scyther; I always just thought he was so cool when I was playing the games and then watching the show, something just really resonated.

I really love Koffing and to be 100% honest I'm not really sure why but something about him I love maybe it's his goofy face lol
