Yeah, it's really cool. Honestly, I've always wondered why Artisan went so heavy with the theming of everything for the T2 releases they did, other than it probably being the biggest property they owned the rights to at the time. They got Van Ling to design so much stuff for them, even designing that T2 THX trailer for the Ultimate Edition that Van Ling then eventually redesigned into Cavalcade for more general use. It's not a bad thing at all that they did all this, but rarely have I ever seen a company go to such an extent for theming; only Gaumont with their three films (Les Rivieres pourpres, Les Tontons flingueurs and Le Raid) that are famous for having their own THX trailers. Because of how rare it was, it's honestly a neat sight to see something like that.

@@subwaygaragemusic Yeah, it's disappointing. But, if I'm going to be completely honest, I think T2 having that distinction is fitting since it's such a well-known and well-respected cultural touchstone.

Yep. What's much more notable is that this trailer was the basis for Cavalcade, and once THX needed a new trailer, they just told Van Ling to redesign it. The explosion animation, the "melting together" animation, everything was copied over (though in cavalcade it was just sped up), only the sounds and the background were changed.

You wanna know something funny? Cavalcade is technically a variant of the THX Terminator 2 trailer. I'd imagine that it was being done around the same time as this one. Hell alongside maybe even Broadway 2000, likely in mid to late 1998 to 1999 for Broadway 2000, early 2000 for Terminator 2 for its August 29th debut (oh come on, Terminator 2, that's too subtle!), and early 2001 for Cavalcade.

I borrowed this DVD from somewhere else and returned it soon after, so I didn't bother to check.

HINT/TIP: To view the theatrical version of Terminator 2, Highlight "Sensory Control," go right 5 times until "The future is not set" appears on the block on the right, then press "ENTER" on your DVD remote control. When the first menu command changes from "Play Special Edition" to "Theatrical Version," press "PLAY" to view the theatrical version. The audio commentary and interactive mode are only for the Special Edition, unfortunately, and the number of chapters will change from 80 to 72. To reverse the effect, highlight "Sensory Control," then go right to "Return to Special Edition Menu" until the first menu command changes back to "Play Special Edition," then everything will go back to normal for you to view the Special Edition.
