This is some solidly-produced content. I’ll have to head to the park this weekend. I was also at the passholder preview, so missed out on those closed rides.

One of my favorite coaster memories is from around the time of the Cedar Fair purchase when my daughter and I hit nearly 50 rides on ST (we lost count) on a very quiet weekday. MA is a great little park and we spent a lot of time there when my kids were younger. Keep up the good work.

That sounds amazing! I don’t know if I could handle that many rides straight on ANY roller coaster, but if I had to try, it would probably be with ST.

Great video! Thanks for the helpful information. I like the style of your video, laid back and long on opinion. You didn’t get bogged down trying to show all of the minutiae. I also like the music choice and 80’s style graphics.

Great video - thank you! We also went back last Saturday and got some Timbers and Wildcat in! I agree that Wildcat's first drop and return is something special - so smooth and gravity-like (whatever that means). Look forward to more great videos from you - thanks again!

Glad you were able to get rides on everything as well this time around! Wildcat is definitely a back-of-the-train ride, but it’s really solid after the new work on it. Thanks for your support!

It might have just been last year, but the food area next to shivering Timbers used to smell like death

so refreshing to see a coaster enthusiast that doesn't automatically sh*t on Michigan's Adventure. While it obviously doesn't get the attention and love that other Cedar Fair parks get like CP and KI, as my home park, it's nice to see a perspective of the park from someone who isn't nitpicking and completely trashing the park at any given chance. Shivering Timbers is slept on by so many because of the location but I always try to tell people that it's definitely worth the trip to Michigan to get a few rides on it. Totally agree with you on Wildcat too that it feels like a completely different ride now; I rode it last year after not having ridden it in well over 5+ years and was shocked that it was so smooth!

I appreciate the feedback :) It definitely feels like a bit of entitlement and jade come into play with a lot of enthusiasts. But with Michigans Adventure being my home park, and being home to one of my all-time favorite rides, I can’t help but love it. It’s honestly a wonderful park!

Nice review. M's Adventure is a great park. No Giga-Coasters but usually no Giga-Lines, either. Some bigger rides for enthusiests and plenty for families to do, including the water park. If you haven't been, Lake Michigan is nearby with plenty of beaches, resort towns and attractions to make for a fun getaway.

@@danpatrick2175 Exactly. The fact that it’s a smaller park definitely helps with crowds! And absolutely, Lake Michigan and Grand Rapids are fantastic, and could easily round out a trip to the area.

I grew up near the park so Ive been to it dozens of times and have gotten bored with these coasters. But it's cool to see coaster enthusiasts enjoying them and even ranking them so high.

Great Vid - glad to see a astute well regarded opinion provided as well rate Shivering timbers so highly. I really need to get on Voyage! 💯 Shivering timbers is THE wooden coaster that makes Michigan Adventures. Michigan Adventures is somewhat under-rated when you consider your near awesome lake beach and sand dunes. There is a fantastic RV park, Duck Creek, with great cabins to rent across the street from Michigan Adventures with excellent new indoor pool - massive outdoor adult hot tub and plenty to do for the kids - you can stay there a week and hit michigan adventures multiple times in a week if you get the reasonable pass which includes parking.

Honestly - between Grand Rapids (and the food/beer scene), Silver Lake dunes, and Lake Michigan… I think the area is perfect for a weekend trip!

I really enjoyed your video, John. Over the years, I've heard soooo many great things about SHIVERING TIMBERS -- mainly that it's a fantastic woodie with several first drops! Also glad to hear that the park is keeping ST well maintained -- especially during these hard times. Anyway, keep up the great work, Buddy!

Wild Mouse at this park is the wild card. It oddly runs single at a time despite many zones thus sloooowwww lines at the yellow painted wild mouse. Risky as it seems to shut down allot and takes 10-20 minute waits to startup adding further aggravation to this coasters wait time.
@MidcourseDiscourse
@MidcourseDiscourse Ай бұрын
I’ve always been so disappointed w how it runs. Like you said, this thing has so many blocks, it could easily handle three on the course at a time. The fact that this was the fastest I’ve seen it running is both great in the moment, but still sad overall 😂 I want these Arrow mice to stick around as long as possible, but please MA, figure out how to run it a teeny bit faster.

It’s crazy to me I keep hearing people call Wolverine Wildcat and Shivering Timbers “smooth”. They are definitely not smooth. I’m going to Holiday World in October and looking forward to Voyage. But I feel like I’m going to be disappointed because all the people that praise Voyage then turn around and praise ST. A great ride to me is one I want to marathon. ST is not one of those.
@MidcourseDiscourse
@MidcourseDiscourse 22 күн бұрын
Totally get that. Having ridden Voyage last season, it is notably smoother than ST. I should have better emphasized that my rides Timbers and Wildcat were some of the smoothest I’ve had on them, not that they’re inherently extremely smooth. Both because I’ve been on them when they were in worse condition, but also because of my seat choice. This was really the first trip I started paying attention to wheel seats and how different cars ride the track. In the rows I rode on the rides, I would absolutely call it possible to marathon, but I agree that they’re nowhere in the realm of Holiday World’s. As an aside, I do hope that the new merger will either better distribute quality of life improvements to smaller parts, including maintaining woodies like ST. Alternatively, the new Six Flags company could possibly sell off some smaller parks, hopefully to people/entities that would care more about them, and provide better maintenance for these rides.
