Hi Jonathan, I'm one of the new users of OpenShot and I should say that I have already fallen in love with this application. While I'm still going through your previous Tutorial Videos on KZfaq, I look forward to the videos that have been featured in this latest version of OpenShots. The inclusion of "Captions" is a big game changer and I don't have to go elsewhere to add the captions to the videos - THIS HAS REDUCED MY LOAD. A BIG THANK YOU TO YOU AND YOUR TEAM FOR THIS INCLUSION! I'm exploring the possibilities of copying the caption format to all other captions at the click of a button. In other words, I'm trying to set the Master template, such as the background color, font color, size, padding, etc, to be uniform across all the captions that I create in my project. Depending on the video/audio/image, only the text ought to change.

Really love this program, but the audio and video lags with the new updates, its not keeping up with the playback. Uninstalled completely from my server and reinstalled. Still having issues this morning. We have a video to upload this weekend 😥

I have the same problem. I can´t hear the sound, just see the video while i´m editing. I returned to the before version (2.5.0).

Hands down best free video editor. Heck, beats many paid editors. Also very intuitive. Eased me into video editing, no problems. Many, many thanks! As for a feature suggestion. The reason why I often have to use powerdirector is for the video effects. Creating and adding these takes a lot of time I understand. Though perhaps if there was an option to add (import) effects, others could create them. Like with audacity. I can import third-party addons. Others with knowledge could create the effects and together build a library. Need a certain effect? Look in the library, see if it's available. Yes? Install it and done. No more need to fire up a bloated commercial program.

Hi and thank you for this nice new version. I've got the 2.6.1 but 2 problems : no sound and speed very low in preview window while editing a sequence. The export is ok for the video speed and the sound but I can't achieve fine cropping if I don't hear any sound. Do you know how to fix this problem ? I'm using a PC on Windows 7. Thanks for your help !

I've been using Xbox game bar as a game budy to record some funny clips or weird stuff, and the windows photo app doesnt do the video trimming justice since it drops it to 30 fps.. I tried this app with little experience in video (almost no experience really lol) and i loved how easy it is to start a whole project! tempted to make a longer edited clip of fun moments now! thank you so much

LETS GO! This is gonna make editing so much better... OpenShot worked wonders for what I was trying to do, but had big issues. With this, you've very much convinced me to stay abord!

Dear Mr. Jonathan. I was using your OpenShot version 2.5 for quite sometime and it was working fine. I was happy working on it. But then I installed this new version 2.6 and when I use it to edit my videos, every now and then it crashes and the display disappears! I need to click on the icon again to restart the whole process and begin again from where I left off. It is so frustrating and a waste of time. I don't know what to do. Could you suggest a way out of the problem? Thank you.

hi Jonathan, first of all big thanks for this cool software. I'm using build 2.6.1 from September 4th, 2021. Unfortunately I can't work with it smoothly because I only have the "CPU" in the settings under "Performance" and can't select anything else under the drop-down... Unfortunately, I couldn't find a solution to this problem with "google". I work with LMDE 5, have installed the Nvidia drivers and they are also set to "active", rendering in the Chrome browser also works wonderfully. Only "open-shot" leaves me hanging :-(( What should I do? Thanks for your help and have a good time PS I tested the "Daily Built" from May 26th, 2022...unfortunately it only works without acceleration

Bonjour!! J’ai regardé tous tes vidéo!! Sur openshot, est-ce que tu vas pouvoir faire un vidéo avec la nouvelle versions?? J’aimerais bien copier les n boucle plusieurs séquences, mais sur vraiment des longues durées, je te donne un exemple je peux mettre pendant 5 min pE une fois vingtaine de vidéo de relaxation en image, avec des transitions mais ensuite je veux recopier la même séquence avec la même transition pendant 3 heures, il y a t’il un moyen ou je dois le faire manuel un à la fois??? Car c’est les mêmes vidéos qui se répète, puis il ont une transition entre chaque, 1 seule bande audio , je cherche vrm savoir si je peux copier en automatique, au lieu que ma séquence apparaît une seule fois est-ce possible que dans le détails des ma séquence je sélectionne que chaque vidéo apparaît plusieurs fois??

I love Openshot but still slowly learning the basics. While it runs happily on old laptop with Windows 8.1, I can't get the latest version to run in Windows 10. No doubt there is a solution as others seem to be able to run the program in Win 10.

In latest version 2.6.1 the timeline is set to 5minutes, please help to increase it

The timeline length will increase as needed, and exported videos will only be as long as the clips on your timeline. So, basically you don't need to worry about the timeline length, since it's automatic. Hope that helps!

The new version 2.6 stopped running on Windows 10. I needed to go back to the old version 2.5

Don't upgrade to 2.6 until they fix the bug, the play back in the editing window is so slow, even all the FIXES they recommend don't work, stick with 2.5 until its all fixed. check out the forums if you don't believe me.

Hello. used and appreciated the basic free use of your product on my own youtube channel. It loads slow, and crashes/freezes several times a week but learned to deal with that. But as of mid July, this preview feature is torture. It freezes the frames every 1-2 seconds. The final product export seems unaffected, but the inabiity to view what you're creating defeats the purpose. The only support I've seen is a few comments on Reddit. I don't want to join that to attempt crowdsourcing. I think your company site should address it, or allow people to enquire without an instagram or a phone call. A phone call? That's your tech solution platform? It was good while it lasted, but in a day or two I think I can just find a new program that works. We'll see. : )

I'm super stoked for the new version, but dang this video sucked at giving me the goods. Going to look it up now! Edit: oh, wait, the "show more" was really helpful! What it needed most was some sort of color correcting (and no, adding saturation is not color correcting). Why not that?
