Often referred to as the most difficult opening lines in all of opera, here are five tenors giving 'er. In chronological order:
1. Giacomo Lauri-Volpi
2. Mario del Monaco
3. Jon Vickers
4. Placido Domingo
5. Luciano Pavarotti
Four of these guys were legendary Otellos. One just did it for kicks late in his career.
note: although the Del Monaco recording was recorded a year later than the Vickers recording that I chose, I decided to put it before Vickers because del Monaco's career hit its peak before Vickers.
