Thanks. Very intresting. My father worked for the Port of London Authority which in the fifties, when I was a boy, ran river and docks cruises. I often enjoyed a trip down the river on either the Viscountess or the Abercorn accompanying my father who did the running commentary. I wonder if these vessels are still afloat and working.

My brother enlisted in Merchant Navy 1944, his age was 16, he was sent to Harwich working on the small vessel named Dab 2, it was involved in Boom Defence work. When Dab 2 sailed to Dunkirk he was refused permission to travel with it. It was many years later that he learnt Dab 2 had survived and was still afloat. He eventually found details of the person that owned the Launch and was invited to attend a reunion, unfortunately my brothers health prevented him from taking up the offer.

The Will of the Everard line should have been there but was late being unloaded, I used to see her still trading as the last sailing barge in and out of Kings Lynn port , sadly her sister vessel was lost on the beaches so I have read .
