Short and sweet Opeth song ! Great solo and drumming too. The guitar work on this album is very nice. I know it's not every Opeth's fan cup of (eterni)tea but I really enjoy this album :).

The instrumentals on their prog rock albums are as great as they were on the metal albums, but let's not overlook Mikael's vocals. His clean singing has only gotten better over the years.

There's a live recording of Cusp of Eternity and Heir Apparent played back to back, highly recommended. The live version of this song sounds much better and "livelier", especially with Fredrik Åkesson's back vocals.

I think you might be thinking of the immigrant song? Because when I first listen to this track, I kind of got that same vibe from that Led Zeppelin song.

Great track. Love what Opeth has evolved into. Moon Above Sun Below from the same album is another really good one.

I am always happy to see a further Opeth reaction from You! The list of incredible songs is endless. What a Band! 💥 Amorphis could also a start of new journey on your channel. Its an Amazing Band from Finland with (maybe) the best vocalist in the Metal Universe. 🤘

The new prog Opeth brings the best of the musicians. Very technical albuns. If you follow each instrument you'll see what I'm talkink about.

I much prefer Martin Lopez drumming to complement Mikael’s writing style. The drumming is the biggest difference to me between Opeth with Lopez vs Opeth without Lopez

@@wesleyb1458 i wonder how it would sound the prog Opeth with Lopez on the drums.
@wesleyb1458
@wesleyb1458 Жыл бұрын
@@CMDJS I think it would have that more seamless flow and direction that the heavy era of Opeth with Lopez had except with clean vocals. I think about the difference from Morningrise to MAYH and from Ghost Reveries to Watershed(ghost reverie and watershed are very similar in guitar and vocals but feels much different because of the percussion).
@wesleyb1458
@wesleyb1458 Жыл бұрын
@@CMDJS This song flows pretty well in a simple way, but some of the Prog stuff definitely sounds choppy, and like a bunch of different sections put into one song, rather than one song with twists and turns but still a driving direction from start to finish.
