Lyrics
I can't see the meaning of this life I'm leading
I try to forget you as you forgot me
This time there is nothing left for you to take, this is goodbye
Summer is miles and miles away
And no one would ask me to stay
And I should contemplate this change
To ease the pain
And I should step out of the rain
Turn away
Close to ending it all, I am driftingthrough the stages
Of the rapture born within this loss
Thoughts of death inside, tear me apart from the core of my soul
Summer is miles and miles away
And no one would ask me to stay
And I should contemplate this change
To ease the pain
And Ishould step out of the rain
Turn away
At times the dark's fading slowly
But it never sustains
Would someone watch over me
In my time of need

I remember when I was like 4 or 3 years old, this was in 2010 or 2009, my father would always be playing ps2 and playing the full album, and i would love watching him play, but u would also listen to the songs, and it somehow stuck with me till now, I am 14 already and this album just gives me nostalgic memories of my father.

The melody is one of those that invites itself into your brain pan, stays for breakfast, lunch and dinner and refuses to leave. Truly, one of the most haunting and likely the saddest, most heart-wrenching song I've ever heard (and I LOVE those cheesy power eighties power ballads). Opeth have a masterpiece in this song, and indeed this record.

I was 15 when this album hit. I fell in love with it immediately. It hit me at a time that I needed. This was an album that saved me as a teenager. Opeth will never know how much it helped me. Now in 2022 it still hits me just as much. This album was (still is) fantastic and will stick with me for the rest of my life. I hope others will continue to discover this album as time goes on.

I remember getting to see opeth live in Orlando when ghost reveries first released. It was them, dark tranquility, and devil driver. Og house of blues Orlando. This will forever be one of my favorite albums and easily one of my all time favorite concerts.

This album, more specifically the song Windowpane was my introduction to this band. I was pretty surprised that they released this in between two death metal albums that were honestly pretty damn good too, I don't even know why they did it, but thank you, this is the best album I've discovered.

I looked up this song today (despite being aware of it much longer than that) I'm ashamed that it took me this long to get to it, but I've been playing it on repeat and I can't get enough of it. holy crap. I'm in love.
