RIP Gordon Lightfoot. Thank you for writing a song that gave us arguably the funniest 20 minutes of radio we ever heard.

These Guys were hilarious. Wish they could still be together and on the radio. Miss them, talented guys.

I wouldn't exactly call this "talent". I enjoy them, but the humor, for me, is how stupid it is. Sounds like you're with your buddies smoking blunts and making fun of stuff. Childish humor, but for nostalgic purposes. Enjoyable, but nothing painfully creative or artistic.

@@ITILII Opie was the straight man. His attempts to contribute to the comedy was cringe af, but you can’t listen to J&S or Ant’s show now without noticing the lack of structure. Opie knew how to run a show. Laugh it off all you want, but it’s obvious.
@Badtown19883 жыл бұрын
They did it to themselves. Opie started to think he was a comic and Ant started to think he was a political analyst. Oh, and Jim started to think he was some kind of intellectual. They forgot the formula.

One of the best bits ever. I remember I was in freshman in college working overnight delivering newspapers to be able to go to college full-time during the day. My friend and I would drive around in my 2002 Malibu with my new XM radio and every night we would listen to the replay from that day from beginning to end. It would always time outright where we finished it right as we were headed home so we could listen to every episode every day, I even had to get a radio that could record stuff so that on the weekends when they were playing Ron and Fez or something else we could still listen to the boys. This bit was so funny I pulled over to laugh the first time I heard it. It's always going to be in my long-term memory up there with some of the classics from the early XM days, which in my opinion were the best years.
