Jay had one of the best batting averages of any comedian they brought on the show. He was usually very funny. Like Jimmy, he has a quick wit and is much better at conversational/ bantering humor than he is at stand up comedy. He would be a great third mic for a good radio show.

Agreed. Jimmy's stand up has always been him giving mediocre angry rants about trivial people like Rosie O'Donnell or whatever and how they're all "hypocrites"

@@D4NK1 Agreed. I saw his stand up act once and found it incredibly mediocre.

Totally agree. Jay is very good as an interviewer, just check out his podcast.

I always thought the same thing. I thought his stand up was just ok at best but on O&A he always killed. He'd have been so much better in the Ant or Jimmy role on a show.

It's just after midnight, my neighbors are screaming at each other again. Only thing making my life better right now is this great show turned up high on my head phones. Thank you

I was at one of the Salt Lake City shows Vos mentioned here. He gets made fun of a lot, but he’s a great comedian.

Despite this killer lineup its still missing the GOAT Anthony Cumia

Jimmy is a master at being funny just talking off the cuff funny
@timetowakeup63022 жыл бұрын
Yeah it's definitely his strong suit. Kudos to O&A for realizing it early on and bringing him into the fold. Some guys are just made for radio. Jimmy, Anthony, Artie Lange are all good examples imo. I wouldn't give you 5 cents for their stand up, but on radio they are gold.

@@spudsbuckley yeah he's funnier at least back then then slot of actual comedians lol Patrice O'Neal was highly underrated

This. Him, Ant, Patrice, all just effortlessly were funny. Only other guy i can think of that makes me laugh just by talking and setups is Joey Diaz Edit: and JD is just like all of the other guys. Only really shines on radio or podcasts when shooting the shit. Stand up is major take it or leave it

Opie bringing up the briefcase over and over and any time he tries bringing up a story it gets a massive ZERO from everyone. A true comedy genius

1:14:44 I love how Jay calls out Opie for bringing absolutely nothing to the show, then Opie tries to brush it off by saying he doesn’t give a crap.

Vos doesnt realize that impersonating a federal agent is a felony.....lol

And you don’t realize the point at which it becomes illegal. Telling randos in SLC that you’re a fed isn’t illegal, just just can’t say it knowingly to a cop or use it to do anything you wouldn’t otherwise be allowed to do as a civilian.

This ep shows that Ant without Opie isn’t _always_ necessary for a decent show.
