I absolutely do not agree what she is saying. DRM sounds much inferior to AM as the transmission cannot accommodate all the frequencies of the source ( music , talkshow) that is being played. Also DRM cannot propagate further than AM and an inbuilt radio set of an automobile will soon loose signal one it moves outside city limits. Whereas an AM will be atleast audible. There is much issue with digital transmission. When signal is strong it is good , when signal is weak it stops working !!!! :) :) :)

@@Dr_Thamminana_KR , Sir, only occasionally you will get such audio good quality. I listen to DRM on KiwiSDR from tuners based on Bengaluru, Coimbatore, Pune, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Nagrakata and Dimapur and I have just the opposite experince. It sounds much better in AM. In DRM the higher pitched sounds are subdued. It maybe Akashvani only transmits in 9kHz band and has a maximum bitrate of 8.10 kbps. However to sum it up I will always go for AM transmission. It may be that the technology is good however Akashvani have not mastered the technology yet and so botches up the transmission. :)
