I really like the thought of opium birds being completely peaceful. Because you would expect this cryptid looking fella to be really dangerous and agressive, but it being chill with humans feels like a really wholesome plot-twist. I also thought of them being a higher power, a demigod of sorts. Beings sent by god to silently observe the world from it's most remote locations (as not to be discovered by humans)

My favorite part about these guys is that they're biologically immortal. They apparently replicate cells fast enough to live up to a theoretical life span of 6000 years as long as they maintain perfect health and don't come across any predators or have an accident. This used to be a common myth about lobsters that science debunked a while ago, but apparently these guys figured it out.

@@K1NDR3D Jellyfish aren’t actually immortal, but there is a type of jellyfish called the immortal jellyfish that is biologically immortal because after it dies it’s cells eventually create new jelly fish. It’s not true immortality, but it’s close. There is also a woman who’s cells are still alive despite being dead herself, so she’s also biologically alive.

Opium bird lives in snowy mountainous areas and has peaceful relationships with humans. At least, we know that this particular bird has peaceful relations with this particular human. We can see the opium bird and the human doing life together without any hint of anger or unrest. The track playing over this footage is slow in pace and is played on a major scale. The major scale is known to sound happy, enthusiastic and optimistic. Combined with the soft ambience, simplicity of the track, spurratic sounds and sound effects which resemble sounds of nature and a utopia of contentment, the song suggests that the elusive opium bird and the human have found the ultimate state of satisfaction, harmony, and meaning. In conclusion, the interpretation of this video is simple: it's communicating an idea which many people don't understand, and probably never will. That is some very good factual information provided. But to the point. I am here to make a opium theory on where this world of peace and opium is located, and it might just be in our universe. In space there are these things known as voids. Voids are large areas with a lack of any matter in them. The biggest known void, The Boötes void (more commonly known as the great void), is where i theories these white whimsical birds to inhabit. In the great void there are only around 60 galaxies, while scientists estimated there should be around 3000 (so we are talking big scale), and there is a theory going around that in these galaxies lives a civilization that is very advanced. So advanced, in fact, that they probably use dyson spheres to harvest the energy of stars. And my theory is that the civilization that lives there, has had the luck to live amongst these opium birds in their ecosystem. Thank you for reading, and that is my theory.

Part of the reason is because our brains kind of function in a similar way to generative AI… our brains predict visual stimuli and recreates it as best it can, so you could see a shadow in the distance that looks like a dog, your brain will interpret it as a dog, until you get closer and realize it’s actually just a rock, and your brain will adjust to that generating the appropriate image of what it is. This is how illusions work.

You can check out some of my tutorials on robottherobot.com. But for this particular one, I started with using the /describe function on midjourney. Most were crap and didn’t look remotely close, but I took elements of the prompts I thought could contribute to the look I was hoping to capture. So I just iterated on a variety of prompts until I finally got one that seemed to work pretty well every time, which is the one I shared. I think the key was adding “yeti fur with stork mask” to really capture the look. I tried stuff like “bird face” etc and didn’t really look like an opium bird. Words such as “practical effects” etc help deliver cool yet realistic results for monsters and creatures in my experience.
