It’s crazy when u watch the interviews with Cillian when they were filming and promoting he was so skinny and almost sick looking. Here he looks much more filled up and healthy looking. And he did all this so he can transform into the very unhealthy lifestyle of Oppenheimer. Just total commitment from him should win an Oscar easily.

The last movie from Scorsese and Dicaprio completly bombed and was vastly inferior and even less ambitious despite having 2 times the budget. No one compares to what Nolan and Murphy accomplished at the box office with this kind of movie, we all thought the time that these types of films would do top 3 number at the box office was over a few decades ago but once again Nolan ( the g.o.a.t ) prove us wrong. The guy casually made an art-house R-rated character study biopic that made 950 millions at the box office in 2023, no other director will sing these kind of songs.

Some people criticize Nolan films for being devoid of emotion, and more about spectacle. I think Cillian provides that emotional impact in all his films (except the Dark knight trilogy, because he's a down right villian😂). That was my issue with Tenet.

RDJ's comments about "a good father" are articulate and insightful. No, vacant face from Cillian there! All three of these people are great actors, and there was lots to love about the people in this interview. RDJ is a treasure!--charming, funny, and then just nails an abstract concept. Emily giving it right back to RDF! Cillian is the a quiet, thrill seeking Evil Knieval of thet acting community!

I like the chemistry of the cast here. Couple criticism of the interviewer: I came to hear the cast answer questions, not the interviewer to add her experiences I promote the hiring & usage of qualified people. The shooting on the set of Rust was partly due to the inexperience of the armorer. She shouldn’t have been hired, and her sex has zero factor in why she shouldn’t have been.

@@Ay3shizzle I think they'll go for someone in their 30's for Hal Jordan, they'll make him and John Stewart peers. The older human lantern will likely only be Guy Gardener (Nathan Fillion) in the DCU. I don't know how much truth there is to that, I can't see him as a fit for the Bruce Wayne part.

he does not enjoy press stuff. period. Imagine how unnerving and time consuming interview after interview, panel after panel can be. He'd rather be working than selling which is the only purpose of many of these interviews: sell the film. When he's with co-stars its a bit better, but all in all the same questions, same anecdotes take up room in one's brain that could be used for more beneficial things. Dude's an introvert and all I see in his body language is it's all tedious and tiring sitting and talking about a film for weeks. But he's a good chap, plays along and moves on with his life outside of show "business."

Rightly so, yet you're one of them so it must not be THAT confusing. The downfall of the internet is people are impulsive and still think it's okay to comment on the way someone looks or a feature. And that's all they have to offer to the world. That's all they got from a 26 minute video. Makes me wonder how they sat through a 3 hour film such as this without getting so distracted. Strange days indeed.

If only the producer of Oppenheimer had hired a qualified sound engineer. There might be a decent movie in there, but a significant part of the dialog is simply garbled and unintelligible. Oppenheimer has beautiful cinematography. The costuming is excellent. Casting is so very promising. If there was a screenplay your only hint will be the pantomime of actors moving around and seeming to say something. Furthermore, someone really should have stepped in and said, "Hey, OK. We got it" on the ending, which as far as I know is still going on and on and on and on. The point of that was absolutely lost on me. Again, a qualified sound person on this film would have made the dialog intelligible and possibly a good movie would have been presented. Sound was the wrong place to save a dollar on this film.

You described perfectly what everyone watching movie experienced. Absolutely horrible sound which resulted in completely impossible to follow dialog of the story! he sad part is that movie director Nolan doubled down in an interview that he did that intentionally, as he confirmed that he never does voice over in any of his movies! What and arrogant and ultimately stupid confession! Even the naked scene was done just to shock the audience as there was not even any developing story of affection and love. The long three hours ordeal of watching technically flawed movie was too much. They should release this movie in US and elsewhere with English subtitle only. Perhaps that might fix the big problem of completely obscured dialogue! Whazt a bully of a movie director who showed he does not care about the actors and their efforts!

strange. seen it in the original language at the cinema in Italy, no problem. perhaps the fault of the cinema or the platform from which you would have seen it.

You have made a prefect assessment. It was like a silent movie days of Charlie Chaplin, when the pantomime of the actors were the only clue as to any actions going on? I think it was not matter on saving on sound engineer, but clear arrogance of the movie director who claimed in an interview that he never does audio post production in any of his movies. In the coming Oscars, the movie director should be getting rotten tomatoes for this movie and not an Oscar! To save this movie, it should have big English subtitles even for US audience! Even the unnecessary nude scene would make more sense if the dialog revealed romantic attachments!? with no dialog heard, it was like a porno movie without sound!

Great actors. Incredibly substandard plot and dialog. Really, really poor.

lol what how it can be poor plot if it was basically history you can't change that and Nolan still brings the best from it

All I know was that at the end of the film I felt shattered,ed. For the next couple of weeks I was inserting concepts from the film in almost every conversation I had. The film had a big intellectual impact on me--questions, cautions, trying to look for and hope a bigger scope of problem solving in science and invention. I just wasn't making judgements about the criteria for good dialogue. In terms of plot, I did wish there had been a more nuanced portrait of Emily Blunt's character. When I finally saw who she was in the latter part of the film, I wanted to understand that relationship more deeply. Clearly, she was a woman born into a nasty time for women (watched my mom go through some versions of that corner women were smashed in to), yet she really anchored Oppenheimer and he depended on her to watch his back.

what a strange thing to say, especially when so much of the dialogue was literally taken from transcripts of the actual historical moments...

The movie has one fundamental flaw due to arrogance of the movie director. Chris Nolan. He refused to do usual audio postproduction with actors as all the movies do. In this case, it was much worse, as the original sound of dialog was completely lost among all the explosion! The dialog was essential to follow the movie. He could have even add the explosions in postproduction if he did not want for dialog to be comprehend. I can not wait to watch the movie with English subtitle in foreign cinemas. He should have at least provide English subtitles! What an arrogant movie director!?

@@clara-nt9rx Could you please let me know which movie theaters show this movie with English subtitles. I still feel that director Nolan was in his interview arrogant as he never admitted that the sound was horrible as one comment confirmed that other people had the same problem. Worse yet, he said he would never do voice over tin order to o preserve authentic sound! Worse yet, he never mentioned that English subtitles were provided. Even the KZfaq videos provide that as free of charge! Regarding the atomic explosion, I studied Nuclear Engineering and visited Hiroshima . Thus I am fully aware of the effect on Japanese people and the role emperor Hirohito had on them like a God. Yet throwing second bomb to Nagasaki was complete overkill. Luckily it was a dud!

@@clara-nt9rx You never provided claimed theatres which included English subtitles for this movie. In fact, I never heard that any Hollywood movie ever made provided English subtitles for release in United States!? Public will ignore them as they are not used to read text when they could hear well recorded sound of dialogue? For them this would be distraction. We foreigners watch all Hollywood movies with English subtitles!

@@anonymous891 I provided detailed reasoning for my conclusion. Additional comments by others claimed that sound was horrible and movie producers were foolish in saving money by hiring incompetent sound engineer. Your anonymous comment without any explanation is just as arrogant as movie director who came on record in interviews that he never uses sound post-production!? For movie with big explosions most of the time!? Give me a break!

The completely nude scenes in a movie were absolutely unnecessary and did cheapen the movie! Obviously they were targeted only to increase the sales for American audience! Like American singers dressed in bikini outfits and dancing like a polo dancing in the porno movies!?
