after Oppenheimer he is going to be solidified as the GOAT I think. He's a easy contender but after Oppenheimer and his inevitable/destined directing of a Bond trilogy, and a next-level horror film (something akin to Silence of the Lambs, The Shining, or The Exorcist, etc etc), he will be GOAT for SURE!!!! Already is in my eyes though.

It strikes me as odd that Nolan has yet to win an Oscar. He's one of the top directors of the last 23 years with no Best Picture or Best Director wins under his belt.
@moviemaniac1411 ай бұрын
Plenty of directors that have made enough films to be considered legends sometimes miss out on the luck and timing factor which is whether the Academy gives it enough attention or not. Kubrick, Hitchcock, De Palma, Altman, Villeneuve, PTA, Linklater, Wes Anderson, and especially Nolan never won (or those alive have yet to win) an Oscar for Director, but that doesn't mean their work is any less valuable. Spielberg and Scorsese won theirs WAY after the time when the general public expected them to.

He is the most admired man and inspirational person for most Indian film directors. Always looked upto as a Demi god when it comes to movie making in India. Almost all of his movies have received a standing applause in theatres across my country. An Oscar or not he is truly the greatest movie maker of this era.

Good questions. I’m not a Nolan fan boy - but the Prestige is one of my all-time fav. This was before he went with Hans Zimmer and all his movies feel like a music video, where dialog goes to die.
@MasterOfMisc11 ай бұрын
Yeah, I dont know what it is with the audio mixing of his newer movies. I watch everything now with subtitles on! It would be great if you they could somehow seperate out character dialogue audio from backing music.. So two different channels. That way, we as audiences sitting at home on our cheapo TV sets could turn the dialogue up without affecting the backing music. That should be a thing. PS: Hans Zimmer music is top tier.
