The kid that allowed himself to be tackled has his head on straight. Congrats, Max! You are on your way to becoming the kind of person that we all want to be. Thanks to his coach- who could have yelled at him, other kids- who could have teased and bullied him, and his parents- who taught him that there is more to life than football (and I love football).

I've worked with the Down syndrome population in the past, and the ones with high cognitive functioning are often self-aware that they are different from their peers, and this is a huge struggle for them because all they want is to have experiences that mainstream kids have. So something like this is very meaningful for both them and their families.
