By request. Dave begins his Oprah log, then presents "Television at 2 am Quiz." Paul tries to save the bit.

The seizure comedy bit was OMG so great. Paul and Dave giggling themselves silly over their little joke.

The Oprah Log is probably my favorite running bit. I still commonly replace the word “over” with “Oprah” in written and verbal professional communications.

Luke Hatcher haha, it was great running bit, I’ve used “it’s not Oprah ‘til it’s Oprah” more times that I can count.

It’s kind of astonishing that this was less than 2 months after 9/11.

Why the watermark? Is that a glitch or is that something you have to d9 to avoid copyright strike?

Couldn’t be avoided.

That's what we've learned today. Yesterday was set your watermark. Today, adjust your watermark.

Mr. Giller, random question, I was watching Terrence Trent D'Arby's Letterman performance of "What a Beautiful World This Would Be" and noticed the audience begins clapping before the song has ended. 1)Are there many instances you recall that happening? 2) Is it because they are out of time and so they hit the "applause" sign?
@dongiller4 жыл бұрын
I suspect the latter.

Don, I found an old VHS video with an entry labelled 'Letterman as retiree' sketch. I vaguely remember it (Dave wanders Central Park, playing chess, etc.). Do you have it? Have you posted it? When I try to look it up all I get are videos about his real retirement from 5 years ago!

Sounds like April 16, 1987, "Dave's Mid-Life Crisis." Haven't put it up yet.

@@dongiller Thanks for replying. Yeah, that must be it. I'll look forward to seeing it whenever you post it. : )
