Wonderful instructions, mister, thank you! Just one quick question. You were showing the end result lights with the engine off, I think. But, when you run the day-time headlights, where the inside headlight (turn signal) glows orange, how does that affect the OPT7 colors? Thank you in advance for the answer!

The orange (daylight running lights) shine pretty bright. Usually when I am going to be running my opt7 lights I turn the daytime running lights off in the unconnect console.

I just bought a 2019 Challenger from a dealer. I’m the second owner. I found two OPT7 remote controls in the glove compartment. I had to Google OPT7 to figure out what these remotes were for. So far, pressing the ON switch on both remotes, then pressing color buttons didn’t illuminate anything on the car that I could see, when ignition was on or off. Today, when examining the engine compartment, I found two OPT7 led strips mounted under the hood to illuminate the shaker hood scoop.. These two strips Y together and that wire harness goes inside the car somehow on the passenger side. I need to trace where this wire harness is going to figure out how the lights are supposed to receive power.. I’m wondering if there are other lights hidden somewhere, because there were two remotes in the glove compartment. I have checked the headlights and I don’t see any OPT7 leds installed in the headlights..

The other strip could be under the car leds. Opt7 makes an under the car led kit. They also make an exterior led kit that lights up the inside of the car on both sides where the driver and passenger feet go. They are either getting power from the fuse block in rhe engine bay "where I hooked mine up" or getting power from the fuse block inside the car. I am curious to hear what you find.

Love the video bro! It helped me a lot with my opt7 install. But I have one question. Where did you connect the Bluetooth wire after you ran it? I’m confused. Where does it connect to?

It only is connected to the controller on one end. The other end doesn't connect to anything. You just want it ran along the sides of the engine bay and towards the cabin of the car to increase your Bluetooth reception from your phone to the controller.

I know this is an older video, but i just bought the Pro version that connects to the app via Bluetooth, I've only had it installed for about 12 hours now, and each time i look outside, the lights are turning themselves on. I even turned Bluetooth off on my phone and it's still turning itself on. I'm worried it's going to drain my battery overnight. Would you have any possible idea why it's doing that? Is it just a faulty set?

Do you have it connected in the fuse box to a spare connection that has constant power or to one that turns on and off with the ignition? It hooked mine up to a spare fuse spot that had power all the time so I can turn my leds on even when the car is off. I have read that if you put the power connection on one of the fuse connections that turn off and on with the ignition that It can cause the leds to turn on and off. You can also call opt7 customer service and ask them.

It just runs as close to the inside of your car as you can get it. Its just an antenna. You have to go to the blue tooth section of your phone and scan for devices to pair to and it should show up.

How do I get the lights to come on without the car in the on position?

There is a certain space slot in the fuse box that is under the hood that is on all the time, even when the ignition is on. you may have to try a few of them, since there are more than one spare openings in the fuse box, to see which one it is. But, there is one in there.

Mine lasted 4 months. I had to disconnect them. They stayed on and couldn't be turned off.

the Bluetooth cable you ran along side of the driver side to the driver door assist lights, right? you didn't show where u connect that too?

The bluetooth antenna wire comes out of the controller that I mounted near the fuse box in engine bay, and the wire is basically an antenna wire that runs along the front of the engine compartment and then up the drive side of the engine compartment and then i stuffed the end in where the brake reservoir was. there is noting connected on that end, it just ends.

@@InMyHead I thought those wires you mention are for connecting to your dome lights or door lights so when you open your door the OPT7 light will activate on when car door is open. I read this in the instructions it came with🤔

@@drkshelton2313 I didn't do that portion of the dome lights. But that wire that I run at the end of the video was just the Bluetooth antenna for the controller.

If you look at the owner manual you will find some spare fuse locations in the fuse box under the hood. There are some that have power all the time and some that only have power when the ignition is on. I chose one that has power all the time.

No, but i typically keep mine on a solid color and do not run red or blue when I am driving.

i used one of the spare fuse locations (they are noted under the fuse cover) and I chose one what has power all the time so I can run the lights with the car off.

There are some spare fuse connections in the fuse box under the hood. I connected mine there.

My Bluetooth box has a red wire coming out of it, where does it go?

I am not sure if Opt7 has changed the design of the controller box. But as you can see in my video, around 11:22 to 11:40 the power connection is a black cable with a connector on it that you can put different positive and negative ends on it, and the black small wire just gets spread out that is the antenna for the Bluetooth. It does not get hooked to anything on the other end.

@@tomcat4501 right below the fuse box in the engine compartment there is a ground stud with a nut on it. There are other wires grounded there too.

You do not connect one end of it anywhere. One end comes from the controller box and I fed that wire along the front of the engine compartment and then up the driver side of the engine compartment then towards the area in front of the wind shield. I show that in the video near the end. It’s just an antenna for the Bluetooth so it’s not connected on one end

If you go in a restaurant or something similar, and can see your car.... can you turn the lights on from inside and control them?!?

If you can see your car and you are not too far away from it (not more than 50 ft or so) yes you can turn them on and control them. Basically if the app on your phone can see the controller via bluetooth you can control it.

@@user-pr5po9iq7t There are two options, one that is keychain controlled and one that is app controlled via bluetooth. The bluetooth option does not come with a keychain, and the keychain version cannot be app controlled via bluetooth.

In the fuse box in the engine compartment there is a few places you can put a fuse that does not have a fuse in it. You can take one of the power adaptors that come with the kit to plug into one of those and that adaptor will have a red fuse it it. You can plug that adaptor in one of those open fuse holders. You can play around with finding those that have power all the time or only when the car is on. I put my adaptor in that has power all the time because at car shows I like to run my lights without the car having to be on. And you can run them for hours without draining the battery.

The Bluetooth wire is like an antenna wire that helps the light controller connect to your phone via Bluetooth so you can control the lights using an app on your phone.

@@benreaves9074 it goes from the controller box that i mounted near the front of the car, along in front of the engine compartment and then back towards the driver on the driver side inside the engine compartment and then i stuffed the end in the area where the brake fluid reservoir is. It does not connect to anything on that end, it is just acting as an antenna for the Bluetooth that is built into the controller.

@@benreaves9074 yes that will work. Having it extended out helps increase the Bluetooth range from the controller to your phone.
