Optimal utilisation of berth:
An effort was made by the port to use the spare capacity available in other berths for berthing the incoming vessels for saving the transit time from anchorage to the berth and to complete the statutory formalities before cargo handling in the berth. The procedure increased the berth availability by 126 minutes per vessel berthing.
