the memory usage used to be around 1400 MB with no players online, and it would constantly give "cant keep up" errors but now its hanging at around 800MB with 0 players and theres no cant keep up errors, which were very annoying, so thank you

I think 'update-pathinding-on-block-update' is a perfectly cromulent configuration option name. When blocks update, should we also update pathfinding or let entities use their possibly out-of-date paths? That said, you've made a great video, it's very helpful.

nooo this hurts to see😓, you certainly dont want to set the render distance to 7, thats horrible, i would recommand AT LEAST 16 chunks renderdistance, also make sure that you set network compression threshold to the value that applies for your network/cpu combo, also make sure that you set the player render distance to something like 256blocks otherwise players will come out of nowhere please dont just tell the perfect settings, there is no such thing as a one fits for all solution, everyone will have to READ and UNDERSTAND what each individual setting is doing otherwise you are leaving performance on the table or in the worst case hurting the experience where you dont have to Also be prepared to spend 2-5 hours on tweaking the ~200 settings, this isnt a quick fix, if you dont want to do it yourself ask a friend or someone who knows what hes doing For everyone: Please do your own research before changing settings! 🙏

On my end I can no longer connect to the server after all these changes. I did make sure to save a copy of the old file before editing and I cannot connect to the server even after getting all the files back the way they were UPDATE: It eventually works after a lot of restarts of the server. UPDATE UPDATE: And again after trying to change the files I can no longer connect to the servers! So Annoying!!!

after optimizing all this stuff, the server uses more memory but now theres no messages saying it cant keep up, which is interesting

the papermc config just prevented the server from starting, so i deleted it to use the defaul one. anyway its pretty good
