Optimized Antenna designed using FreeCAD (EP91)

Today, as promised, we are designing the optimized antenna. The goal is a 3D printed frame for the antenna. In the last episode we were showing the principle how the inventor computed the special shape of this antenna. A fascinating process!

The fundamental value of a computer is that they don't complain about doing repetitive tasks. I find this antenna design to be very interesting and am looking forward to seeing the final product.

Wow that is really cool. Hope it will work. Can't wait to build one for lower frequencies. Maybe you could use a Nickel strip ( Hiluminband ) to build it. Would be easy bendable and you can solder very good on it.

Wouldn't you want a balun if you're driving it with coax?

Hi Jeremy, thanks for your comment! Well, in fact the feed network I am using is a kind of BALUN. I chose this "trombone construction" because I can tune it. That trombone is getting large for lower frequencies and you would prefer other constructions using cables or transformers.

Please lose the "in order". They are useless filler words that add nothing but noise. "To" is all you need.

Well, the phrase appears twice in this video. But still, maybe I should pay more attention to it in general! After all, I want to make serious content and not give pompous speeches. Thanks for your comment.

I just checked my older video text files. And you are right man! There is a video where it appears several times, oh no! I didn't realize that myself. The average is about once per video. Thank you very much for your hint! I will try to avoid that kind of "noise" in the future.
