I think that's cool but if you didn't know that's from the 3rd movie when optimus talks to sentinal before killing him and he says that because sentinal joined the deceptions. So it could've been a total accident or done on purpose

Actually, Donald Mustard confirmed that Kratos let Optimus use the axe since Kratos respected him. Optimus was smart enough to know that fighting Kratos would make him lose his Victory Crown streak.
