While almost every cybertronian fought ratchet focused on healing, fixing, and creating but would also fight when needed one could only imagine what was going on in his head hearing the destruction of the greatest repair device ever known

This is one of the best scenes in the entire show. You feel the night of the Decepticons as they easily overpowered the Autobots. The sheer desperation is heartbreaking 💔. My favourite character in this is easily Optimus Prime.He chose to save an entire world 🌎 filled to the brim with innocent life over the barren wasteland of his own home. Optimus didn’t want to destroy the omega lock, he knew it was the only way to save his own planet and it broke his spark to have to make such a decision. However , as a soldier at war, Optimus knew that they could not allow such a powerful device to be used to destroy innocent lives in the hands of the Decepticons, but especially Megatron, who cares for no one but himself and his own personal gain. I absolutely don’t blame Optimus for what he did, i would have done the exact same thing in his position. It shows that prime has a big spark of gold. That is why Optimus is a hero, he values the lives of others and does everything he can to protect them, even if it means sacrificing himself. This is what also conveys the key difference between Optimus, the stoic, brave and true leader and Megatron the insane, dark, sinister and sadistic tyrant. This show was really educational to kids like myself back in the day, it’s just a shame that they don’t write as many shows with such phenomenal writing and characterisation. This is my personal opinion, you may disagree and that’s okay. To each their own as they say. Xx
