16:40 There is no UN35 opto coupler, it doesn't exist, you can't read your own handwriting. 4N35 and it's a photo transistor, not a photo triac

Pin out on your PC817 is wrong. This is 4 PIN device. SCR = Silicon Controlled RECTIFIER! (not resistor) I gave up at 8min as it seemed I already knew more about this subject than the material presented in this video. Sorry...

CETech I found something, actually you need to add some current limiting resistance and a cap and it can detect it!

Hi I tried with 4N35 and connected to AC with 330K Resister in between and given 5v on other side to check the AC main detectation but didn't work. i want to build AC mains detector so I can check on microcontroller can I use the above circuit shown at kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ha-bhJmW27-RnZs.html

There is no UN35 opto coupler as in the video, it doesn't exist, 4N35 is a photo transistor, not a photo triac which is why it didn't work for you.
