Well these 'interviewers' expect people to come on there and have endless conversations saying a bunch of nothing, something that could be summed up in 2-3 words... So it becomes 'surprising' when someone just gets to the point and not really interested in the endless yapping...

Interviewer - Talk me through the goal? "Well, it was 27 minutes 13 seconds on the clock. The weather had just taken a turn for the worst, rain pouring down. As the ball fell to my feet at great speed from a misplaced pass partly from the now dampened surface, I realised my boot laces were undone. There was no time to remedy this tedious and uncomfortable situation though, as the chance to feel the sheer sense of ecstasy and achievement from scoring a goal was too hard to pass up on. I put my now loosely fitting boot thru the ball... Goal. Right in the lower left corner of the net. Everything went in slow motion as I realised we'd won the match from a previously unlikely position, making the goal all that more special and gratifying". Interviewer - I've no more questions.

They are so used to getting long winded responses that it seems unnatural when they get a simple straight answer. "Yeah we been working hard on training, the weather was abit breezy and the shirts colours clashed abit but i managed to get on the end of a pass that was so perfect and my instincts as a youth academy player kicked in and yeah yano the rest is history. Shout out to the groundsman aswell. Love you mum "

Because tbh these interviews aren’t really meant to gather information. Mostly they’re just entertainment for fans who get to watch a bit of extra content about the game. For example if your team wins a really big game you go and watch the interviews to bask in the glory a little bit longer. Football is meant to be fun and people like to hear from its protagonists. That being said, this interview was actually entertaining in its own way 😅
