This is a series of tips from one of our more experienced mentors - Dr. William Partridge. He has spent over 40 years total in the Army and is well versed in exodontia. He is a Comprehensive Dentist (AEGD-2 residency in 1704), and has a great lecture on exodontia for general dentists. Technique is critical for exodontia with only local anesthesia and/or oral sedation. Dr. Partridge is a kind hearted gentleman who is willing to share his knowledge w/ the world. Here is the complete presentation.
Here is Part 1 of this series where he talks about the administrative aspects of extraction:

Thank you so much for sharing Dr. Partridge’s video. I served at Fort Hood when he was there and I’ve been trying to find his videos for a long time. He was a general dentist that was truly gifted in extractions.

@perioendo As one of our experience oral surgeon attendings noted: Extractions should be completed gracefully - not traumatically. Albeit, much easier said than done, especially when hooked under the something.

if you make the flap design like that when you suture wouldnt you pass the needle tip into the where the anatomical structures are that you are trying to preserve? (lingual nerve etc) especially if you want 3 mm bite for example.

when you do your distal trough are you removing a burs width of bone only on the distal buccal area. Or where do you stop to avoid lingual nerve problems?

sir,after giving incision and releasing flap and exposing the alveolar bone,is there any risk of uncontrolled bleeding that could be fatal during the procedure
@souravboro947
@souravboro947 7 жыл бұрын
dorjee bhutia d there will be no complication in giving incision..since there is no major artery present at that site..until and unless patient has bleeding disorder or undr medication.

instead of a distal trough couldnt you just take off the distal portion of the 48, and preserving the bone ?? like make a distal crown margin lol
