I'll say this as a Cornette fan: A lot of these newer viewers don't understand he's playing it up for their $$$. They think Being the "Cult" of Cornette sends good connotations. That my friends, is what Punk's theme song is all about; Cults Of Personalities. It's ok to disagree with him like Brian Last does every so often. Not everything he does is gospel as evidenced by him being let go from multiple companies for not knowing when to dial it back and think about what he's about to say. Jim gets mad that every wrestler doesn't perform the way he likes and it's gotten a bit old for me. No Jim, not every wrestler you don't like is "killing the business" or anything like that. The business as you knew it died a long time ago with the territories. It's gone! MMA has taken that spot.

He opens a ton of shows (to bad ratings) and has 15-20 min matches doing every single move in the book without getting anyone else over, without being entertaining, without being believable and without leaving an impression. This is Tony’s fault as much as it is his. Orange Cassidy sucks and is a huge reason why AEW is in lot so big. They sold out 80K but they don’t have good weekly numbers because they do dumb stuff like push him

But he’s booked like the people are supposed to take him seriously. It ruins the aura for everyone except for the 875k people that like that sort of thing. You can do comedy in wrestling. But comedy is not a main event act. Slapstick comedy doesn’t draw. As evidenced by the actual numbers, which you don’t think matter. If you don’t think wrestling can be bad or wrong. Go check out 2000 wcw. Torpedoing straight into the ground. Aew is mirroring wcw 2000. No leadership. Everyone getting to do whatever they want. Terrible storylines. No intriguing characters with actual charisma. The only nod to 2000 wcw is that the guys still looked and acted like legit athletes so it was still watchable. Just wait until the ratings drop even more with aew. Then the tv executives will start looking for alternatives other than garbage backyard wrestling to put on their channel.
