I've made two Preppy Kitchen cakes this year, I made a Preppy Kitchen lemon cake and a Preppy Kitchen chocolate cake, they were both phenomenal! I've also made John's red velvet cookies, his lemon cookies, his millionaire shortbread and his cheesecake brownies. Peanut butter cookies, chocolate chip cookies, sugar cookies, and spritz cookies my grandma taught me how to make. Two thirds of my recipes are from John Kanell, and the other third of my recipes are from Grandma.

did you do the orange things on top and would a person without that tool get it done

@@aquosuakesewahh I think you would need a blow torch, but I actually bought dried orange slices from trader joes to top it off since I didn’t want to go out and buy one. However, they were more for decoration, you could definitely omit them.

yes cut slices about 1/3 inch thick and lay sugar or brown sugar for a toffee taste over the top and bottom. use a nonstick baking dish or parchment paper. remove the rind if you’re going in the oven or it will be so bitter tasting. i set to 425 fahrenheit and then check on them every 2-3 minutes. they start to caramelize quick so be mindful or they will burn and you can’t undo burnt taste. depending on how thick you cut the slices, that’s how much time it takes - thinner is quicker and thicker is slower by just a few minutes. i’d say it takes about 12 minutes total in the oven but again it depends on your oven and how thick you cut your slices. try to keep the slices uniform in size so they cook evenly

some people don’t like candied rinds, and they take a little more work to get to a point where you can’t taste the bitterness. if you’re just using a torch, i think it’s best to remove the rind for flavor. but you can totally keep the rind on if you like the rinds, i eat the skin on kiwis and people think that’s different but eh to each their own. :)
