It's actually a hymn of the Salvation Army - an organisation that is there to help EVERYBODY. It's to do with God's love and not a song of jingoism !

Today I’ve seen a Welsh person, an Irish person, & the Scots stand up for our culture, & put aside the grievances of the past. It brings tears to my (English) eyes as I sit here in Australia, knowing that we all must stand together against what is happening across the globe today, or we will fall. I do hope that the praise the Order received for honouring St George is met with more respect. They are a charitable Christian organisation.True of Reformist Faith ,all are welcome along,just embrace true Christianity. Wonderful cadence,excellent musicians,joy ,harmony and patriots to the core. Kudos. If you are contemplating joining,are of good character and standing. Great in London today imagine these lads leading it playing wartime music like long way to tipperary ,pack up your troubles etc.A really great parade was last years lord Carson parade in London another Scots band were down they were fantastic playing hymns and I vow to thee my country at the cenotaph, fabulous.

A tremendous parade was another Scots band down last year at the Lord Carson parade the Pride of the Rock flute band ,again onward christian soldiers was played a great parade mate .
