I remember, being 11 - 12 years old, going up to the window at Taco Bell and saying: I’ll take a green burrito, Diet Coke, and, 10 hits of Orange Sunshine! And the kid sold it to me! Magical Laguna, the best place to grow up in the late 60’s early 70s I loved seeing this, thank you!

Used to hang out at Thalia Street beach in 1968- 69. Used to eat at the Taco Bell on the corner of PCH and Thalia. Burritos and Tacos were 25 cents and a thing called the "Bell Burger", maybe 40 cents. Afterwards we'd walk across PCH to the Mystic Arts Head Shop and look at the pipes and black light posters. Laguna in the late 60's and early 70's was an amazing place. Very laid back. I'm reading this guy's book. Good read, brings it all back.

I went to the concert you mentioned. I recall the MC repeatedly saying that "every major band is on they're way here". Obviously this was just the drugs talking, but we still held out hope.

I think about those times every day. The canyon was peaceful and no one locked their doors. Didn't need to.

When I was a kid my friend’s family owned the apartment building behind the Taco Bell and they owned the 76 gas station in town. I always left with a free tank of gas in my VW bug. The 70’s and 80’s was a much better time. That may sound nostalgic, but it’s true.

I od'd on two hits of purple haze micro dot in '72. I spent weeks in a mental hospital taking daily doses of thorazine. I took alot of acid back then but after I od'd it took awhile to get any sanity back. Didn't do anymore after that episode

S*** man I was born and raised there until about 14 years old then I moved to Hawaii for a year and then I moved to f****** south Louisiana until I could move out on my own at 18 and then I moved back to Hawaii and so did my family at the time. And I tried to move back to Orange county whenever I was 21 but it's just not the same. So I moved to San Diego and San Diego is literally the last good spot in California if you ask me. It's not too conservative and not too liberal it's just perfectly in the middle. I can't stand how liberal the rest of California is because when you're that liberal you just become a bunch of hypocrites and you're really doing all the dirty work but acting like you're so peaceful and righteous. And I should take back the word liberal because the new left is not liberal whatsoever. They're quite the dictator and fascist type of political party it's just they think that they are progressive and liberal because they want to allow grown men with a wig and fake titties to go into a little girl's bathroom. That's not liberal or progressive that's just dumb

I grew up in Laguna, and remember Taco Bell being built, some very nice cottages were demolished 😢 , and when it opened everything on the menu was 25 cents I think is was the winter of 67or 68 , Laguna was so cool a wonderful place to grow up and a wonderful time to live in

At 18 in 1971 I moved to California from New York, eventually living in Redondo/Hollywood -Riviera. Small complex of beach bungalows it was called Octopus Cottage. End of 1971 there appeared orange and green barrels that the peeps called Christmas Acid from the Brotherhood. Can anyone confirm??? I seek elucidation. Joyous Days Between to all!

1:13 The dude said "People as far away as San Diego and Glendale"!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣!!!!! Dude in the seventies you could probably get from Laguna all the way to San ysidro at the border of San Diego and 45 minutes!! Even now if you wanted to go from Laguna to downtown San Diego it would take you an hour maybe an 1hr and 15 minutes on a light traffic day and if you wanted to just go from Laguna to North San Diego such as Oceanside or Encinitas or Carlsbad it would be 40 minutes for sure without traffic or honestly maybe quicker. And from Laguna to Glendale is about an 1hr or an hour fifteen with medium traffic and I'm sure back in the 70s you could get there in 30 minutes. You can always tell when somebody hasn't left their town too much or doesn't leave very often, whether you are in the boonies of Arkansas or Louisiana, or in Orange county you still have people who are small-minded because they only surround themselves with a small community LOL I'm not saying it's a bad thing it's just funny because both of those places he said we're not far at all and he acted like it was people coming from Boston to Laguna to buy LSD LOL
