Chances are you've never heard of Cassadaga, Florida. But thousands flock to the small community of just under 100 people every year because of its status as the "psychic capital of the world." In recent years, Cassadaga has also garnered the reputation of being one of Florida's creepiest towns. In today's video, we strip away the sensationalism and present the real history of this historic town dedicated to spiritualism.

Growing up in cassadaga I find videos like this funny lol, if you do visit and go to Colby park, my childhood house is the (now) grayish house directly across the lake from the park

That's so cool! I was just there yesterday taking photos. I'm in the photography program at Daytona State college so I was taking pictures of all the old buildings and befriended two feral cats for a project. It's Beautiful!!! There's a purple house near the purple rose I think I saw that's for sale now I'd love to live there

I spent a lot of my childhood here, my dad lived in the white house across from the post office on Stevens Street. I can't believe the Purple Rose is still there! I hadn't been there since the 80s so it was cool to see it still around. There are so few businesses there it's pretty much a landmark now. Thanks for this video!

Thank you for making this video... Very informative and respectful. So often people judge what they don't know or make stories up to get more likes. This is a remarkable place with an interesting history and kind people that all deserve respect. Well done!

I've never actually "seen" a ghost/spirit but I can feel the presence of ghosts and spirits. You can for sure feel that energy in the Cassadaga hotel especially by the staircase.

I am really truly impressed with how much you researched and got as much true history as you could to properly get with what the town is really about. You did an amazing job. I just wished there were more people like you. I can also add to the understanding of George Colbys gravesight. Marilyn Awtry and I had his grave probed with the City of Lake Helen in 2014 which she wrote in her book about Cassadaga. There was no grave. We have found information about him possibly being cremated and having his remains sent to Lily Dale. A Baber Province bought the headstone and put it in the Lake Helen cemetery in respect to Mr. Colby because they wouldn't do it at the camp. We were supposed to do ground pentrating radar to see if there were any bones, but there definitely is no casket. Thank you again for such an amazing job on the video. I will be sharing on the Cassadagan Way of Life.

When I went, there was solar lights near some graves and they turned off as this black figure rose up maybe two feet above ground and started spinning in circles while coming towards me and two others, we all saw it so I know I wasn't losing it .. I don't think I have ever ran so fast in my entire life. On our way through the town a huge orb flew right over our car too it was all very creepy. It was between 230-3am. I don't think Ive ever been so scared in my life lol ppl probably won't believe this story and I'm not saying any of it for likes or anything this is a legit true story

@Angel There was an old witch that lived back in the woods the dilapitated house. Always had a light burning in one of the upstairs bedroom windows We parked the car and walked To get a better look We were about maybe 15 yd away In the dark And she let a candle on the front porch and had been watching us the whole time There was 3 of us tripping over each other Trying to get out of there

I attended a Job Corps in Cassadaga NY and during my time there i would hear locals say : DON'T GO TO OR NEAR LILYDALE (which was across the lake from Job Corp) , but eventually a woman that lived there became a teacher and she became a very popular and loved being, she even told some of us not to be scared ,that no one would snatch any of us for any purpose. Anyways the Cassadaga in upstate NY is a beautiful place. Spiritual or Not.

Proper definition of Spiritualism is a little different because Spiritualism is a religion just like Catholic or Jeahovah. The definition of Spiritualism is it is the Science, Philosophy, and Religion of the continuity of life. It started as a movement before it was a religion in March 31st 1848. It switched from a movement to an organized religion on Sept 29, 1893 when Spiritualists from around the world convened at the World's Fair to hold a meeting and vote on Board of Trustees through the NSA National Spiritualists Association. The NSA became the NSAC after the 1950s when they had to put Church in the name in order to continue to be considered an organized religion.

Finally a video with some history, I'm trying to find out why in the cemetery is the chair in the cemetery is called the devils chair and why their is In various places 7 of them. Plenty of people sitting in it which is interesting, but now I want grown up information, thank you! For some history to this place at least, you're only up to the spirit pond, 👍👍👍👍😉🙂🦘🇦🇺🌟.

I wish I had $40 million dollars to invest in Cassadaga. I grew up in Central Florida and it is sad to see all the special and unique places fade away. This place needs a infusion of money to renovate, renew and attract new visitors to learn about what a cool place it is. There were so many places that were wonderful and should still be here, like Wet n Wild, Mystery Fun House, orange groves, Etc. I don’t want that to happen to Cassadaga.

Actually i work there :) actually we try not to have any fear toward anybody And if you go on the tours *Jaimie runs it* You can catch orbs, orbs are the main way spirits show themselves and just saying the temple is done has been for about 2 years but is is so beautiful I kinda scary thing is that the pond its called spirit pond and peoples ashes are in there from being cremated and yea the orbs are real apparitions are sorta easy to get and most of the time they are hard to find lol and feel free to ask me any questions
