Orchha is a historical town located in Niwari district of Madhya Pradesh state of India. It was founded by Rudra Pratap Singh Bundela as the capital of the state of the same name sometime after 1501. Orchha is situated on the banks of Betwa River in Bundelkhand region
The historic city of Orchha, located on the banks of the Betwa River, was founded in the 16th century by the Bundela Rajput chief Rudra Pratap. Here, the Betwa River splits into seven channels, also known as Satdhara. Legend has it that this is in honour of the seven erstwhile chiefs of Orchha.
The ancient city of Orchha has withstood the wrath of time, with many of its monuments still retaining their original grandeur. Here you will find some of the most fascinating temples and palaces that will help you realize your childhood fantasy - traveling back in time!
