Most traders who are into order flow are familiar with the volume footprint chart which is based on the volume traded on the bid versus volume traded on the offer in the two way auction but there is actually another way to take the same data and turn it a different angle and see things other traders can't see, the delta footprint. A measure of the aggressive buyers versus aggressive sellers at a price level.
This feature is available on the Orderflows Trader 2.0 which we released a few months ago and really what separates the Orderflows Trader software from the other software out there is the education that comes with it. I think that is worth much more than the software itself. Each week I do a weekly live group training session for users of the Orderflows Trader software.
The reason I decided to make this video is because I want to show you that when you have the right trading software and you learn what to look for in the order flow that you can indeed see what is happening and make solid trading decisions.

Unfortunately in Sierra Chart, when you choose to display delta in numbers bars study, it stacks all the values in one column instead of leaving negative to the left and positive to the right. Asked in their forum to change this behavior, they marked the thread as "user discussion", they do that when they wanna avoid something, they clearly don´t give a fuck about improving their tools.

Hey Mike, so what is the actual idea ? Down bar with buyers at the top and vice versa, but why are you looking to do with that?

that is the starting point. as a trader you have to always be asking if there is so much buying up here at a high, why didn't we go higher? for a move to continue there has to be follow through buying by other participants. At the same time, you also have to view it in the opposite, who are the traders buying from? someone with a lot of supply. when you are at a high, and you see a lot of supply come into the market, what should you expect to happen next?

@@orderflows Thanks Mike, it's obviously contextual, and I always look more at what we can't see as opposed to wht is visible (who are Traders buy/selling ). Footprint is a fantastic tool used wisely, especially with the addition of the depth of market.
