Brian from the Polka dot agate mine is such an awesome dude. The Polka dot is one of my favorite places to dig. Everyone is so kind and knowledgeable! My favorite find of all time was from there too. Found one of the most amazing stalactite formations that looked like it had a dragon in it and even had druzy on it. Brian mentioned it was a $ 1500 specimen egg if he had to put a price on it if i cleaned it up. Im so proud of it. lol it's my baby. I can't wait till the place opens again this year 😁

Polka Dot Agate Mine is a great place to visit. We were there last year on a day it was pouring rain. You will find eggs no matter what. I’m found a giant one but it would have taken too long to dig it out and it was already getting late. Brian is super nice and very helpful as are all the people there. I believe in the summer on each full moon they allowed people to camp on the property and I think there were night digs or something. Even if you don’t like thunder eggs or don’t want to dig, you just pick up all the stuff that other people left behind. In the rain it was really easy to see pretty pieces of agate lying around. I highly recommend visiting. Beautiful drive up there too.

I know you love music. Just wondering if you ever use an agate or other rock pick with your guitar? I know it is a bit off subject but been toying with the idea of making some.

I was made a really nice fire agate pic, but I see I’m not a big fan of stone pics personally however, Amber makes a fantastic pick, and the most coveted ones in the world are made out of tortoiseshell

I know I would probably charge double triple with this gentleman was but then again if it’s pretty abundant, I can see him making a quick dollar instead of the long dollar in my opinion he was practically charging for polish instead of the raw material. This guy is really cool and his prices were even cooler.

It's definitely a weird one for sure, almost surely a geode, keeps sayng agate stalactites , chalcedony can, but chalcedony alone does not make an agate, and if its not an agate its not a thunder egg, so I would say a geode with chalcedony, not a thunder egg

Dave, if you ever make it up to central Washington, I'll take to you Ellensburg blue agate hunting . But the whole state is loaded with minerals. Maybe check out Quartz cowboys channel on youtube, He hunts all over the state. Thanks for all the great virtual gem and mineral shows I can't go to. Oh yeah, did sweet Jim really pass away?
