When Oregon is underdog @ AUTZEN, I like it because it give them extra motivation and hungry to annihilate the visiting rank teams. Seen it before against the likes of Michigan, USC, and Washington etc. Ohio State is in for a brewed awakening. Can’t wait anymore for this season. GO DUCKS 🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆

Yeah agreed... I think it's because of the early betting.... Maybe there was some influence by Joel Klatt or something in there. It really doesn't make any sense though. A lot of people aren't paying attention or going off of preconceptions..... And not doing their homework properly. Joel doesn't exactly have a flawless track record when he makes both statements! I think he's about 50/50 most of the time....

I have seen Oregon lose games because they were favored by an amount that made the other team feel disrespected. The first game that comes to mind is the game we lost when Oregon was favored by 21pts at Autzen versus USC in 2011 with Lebron and his NBA friends watching 12:40 . Then USC came in and beat Oregon, saying the Vegas point spread was the main reason why, because they felt super disrespected. I love that Ohio State is favored. Please favor OSU by 7pts. That will guarantee Oregon to win for sure

I love the Ducks, but I just can’t get on board with this. Ohio State has an edge at every position on the field except QB, and to me that equates to Ohio State being a 5-7 point road favorite over Oregon unless something goes haywire. I hope I’m wrong, but I just don’t think you can put the Ducks on the same plateau as Ohio State and Georgia for now.

Yeah that's not really what people who are looking more closely are seeing... There's an edge in a couple of position groups... It's far closer than you seem to think! And quarterback is a really, really important piece!

I think roster Wise Oregon competes very well with Ohio State. Some positions they are better wide receiver for ex. If the QB is better at Oregon that's everything in football. Personally I don't care who is favored betting wise to begin with anyway judge win the game

Vegas moves lines based on betting. So, the early bets were taking Ohio State. You’re right, if the betting changes, based on the way the teams look early in the season, the betting lines will reflect. I’m ok with an underdog narrative, especially if it provides a little extra juice.

I have no problem with odds changing this early. It is all speculation at this point. Honestly, it's all speculation until the game is played. If they said Ohio State by 10+ then I would be questioning it big time but my opinion on game odds is a lot like my opinion on polls. Whether they are team polls during preseason or during the season I think polls manipulate the playoff picture unfairly. The best solution is just having teams earn playoff positioning on the field. Create a four-team power conference of 16 teams each, where conference champion and 2nd place team make 8 team playoff. Conference champion has first round game at home field against any of the three 2nd place teams other than the one team from their own conference. Keeps the playoff rounds to no more than 3. This may help keep injuries down after a regular season of 12 games, the conference championship game then up to 3 playoff games for a total of no more than 16 games in a year. Still a lot of games but that is a much better solution than using polls and committees to be determining who makes it and who gets home field advantage, etc. As to people who would complain about their school not being included in power conference... if their team can't make the cut of top 64 teams then not sure there is an issue. But if they are on the bubble then introduce the soccer/football idea of having levels where a team or teams can be removed from the power conference for losing records and a team or teams can be brought up from outside the power conference who have a top, higher winning percentage. Just an idea. The current playoff format and the suggested 12 team playoff are still hamstrung by the issues I outlined.

We don’t need a qb to win it’s gonna be our defense that gets us the win out loss against you was only because our defensive coordinator let you score off the same play three different times that game it’s gonna be a lower scoring game. Ohio states coaching staff and roster is also much better than Washington’s plus you have to factor the point that Oregon likes to lose every big time game they play

I think it’s a coin flip game and I like our chances in Autzen…but I’m not mad if someone thinks Ohio State will win..they very well could and could pretty comfortably.
