I am pumped as a Duck fan. Detractors want to take away from Lanning cause of the record against Washington, but you have to keep in mind, he's 12 years younger than DeBoer and is on his first stint as a HC and its at the highest level. He has a lot of room to grow and improve, and he will!

Well they will need to win the big games that matter and they have had a problem doing that historically. Looks like a pretty easy schedule for them at least the first 5 games or so. Very favorable home schedule ? don't know how that worked out.

My whole family is UofO alumni. For generations back. My gradma lived right across the road from autzen stadium she was a Chase. My Dad took me to my first game in 1985 when i was barely 4 months old. I kever missed a home game until i went into the army after high school. I remember a concrete stadium that would barely bring out 4000 people to watch. The rectangular advertisements painted on the side of grey concrete. To see where we have come. Honestly, it makes me so happy. Words can not describe my joy. But ducks fans..... remember. Let's not get over cocky. Keep our goals reasonable a lot of football still to play.

@aprilY619 my late grandmother Nancy, maybe you know her maybe not, lived right across there at Chase Gardens. It is all apartments now. But we used to park at Nana's house and walk across to the tailgates every home game. It is crazy how it all has changed.

I tell you, i past ptsd from the coaches who left us before. So when i knew the Alabama job cams open, i knew instantly that Lanning would be either candidate 1 or 2 for them. Its a scary thing when you know teams want what you have. So when i saw Dan's video of him saying i'm staying, it was like a elephant had been lifted off my chest. Noing. Dan aint going to be going anywhere now or in the near future, tells me we can build this team to the likes that no one ever has. You think about how some of the great teams in history started. It all started with a great coach.

Only coach I was disappointed to see leave was Chip...He was one hell of a coach back in the day and really put Oregon on the map at the time. I think we would have won a Natty back then had he stayed. I was pumped seeing Mario leave, I was never a believer in him and don't think he's a good coach. Great recruiter, terrible head coach. Offense was stagnant under him, his style didn't work for what we had, play calling was very predictable and he had his finger on the play calling. He never could make in game adjustments.

Why did PAC-12 coaches, who should know, vote Bo as their Player of the year and first team QB? Penix had more than one bad game. Bo had none. UW won because they were a Senior laden team and yes, because Penix is really good as was their coach.

I think PENIX just had a bad game against Michigan in the NATTY. That’s the only way they lost. If they would have played another game, Michigan would have lost.

I think stylistically uw was a team that could beat us but I think Oregon for the most part matched up better among the other top contending teams. Regardless uw had a special season (I’m so glad it’s over tho)

Man it’s such a blessing to have such a great coach. He truly fits perfectly at Oregon and his family is happy. Oregon fan always knew chip Kelly wanted to go to the NFL. Willie taggert left Oregon after 1 year fire his dream job FSU. And Mario went home to Miami. When I heard Lanning came from Missouri I knew we found our guy. He ain’t leaving us to go home. He’s home now.

Couldn’t be happier with the state of my alma mater. While I suffered painful losses the past two seasons, and my last two in college, but I know this is only the beginning. Lanning is building a MONSTER and haters will hate until we can get over that hump, but I think that’ll be sooner than later. What Lanning’s done in his FIRST head coaching stint… is paralleled to some of the greats. Go Ducks!!

Many of us were nervous about Lanning leaving as we have lost several coaches in a row who said they would stay. The guys who stayed are amazing, now add these transfers and high school recruits. I am feeling very good about our depth and bulk on the both lines as we need it to play the bigger slower power teams like Iowa along with speed to play OSU

I'm from Newport Oregon and a 35 year Ducks fan.. this will be the most talent ever assembled in Eugene. For years we have been on the edge of elite but our offensive and defensive lines haven't been able to match up when it came to playing the Sec in the biggest game of each season. Dan planning is puting the kind of athletes who can play the Sec on his O and D line, plus more elite talent at the skill positions and secondary as we've ever had.. Dan Lanning wins a national title in the next 3 years. Print that shit

Like I said before, Dan Lanning is on a mission. Unfinished business = National Championship. I'm thinking 24 could be our year. And as for Dan on going to Bama, he said before Fiesta Bowl he and his wife, and kids hate moving and changing licenses. I would get tired of that too. Been there, done that.

For years and years I kept hearing that it is impossible to recruit good players to Eugene, Oregon in droves like this. I'm still used to sticking with the hs recruiting classes and develop players from there.... some turned out great, others football didn't work out for them as expected. Now Oregon has no problem loading up on players, any class they want. A coach now sees this as the place to be, not a stepping stone. I'm not used to this at all. I'm a happy fan.

I was saying Dylan Gabriel was the best QB in the country at the beginning of the season when he was playing for Oklahoma.. they messed up getting rid of him.. left handed QB's already have a little advantage but he's a true passer that can scramble also.. I would have loved if he came to my team and we already have some good QB's

The defense has gotten much better. If this trend continues while the offense stays as good as it has been. Next year is going to be really good for Oregon football.

It is close. There is one year I can think of. Harrington's senior year, I think. We got looked over for the Natty but turned around and won the fiesta bowl convincingly. Finished ranked number 2 in AP and coaches. That team was very, very good. But I do agree depending on how they play. We are looking at a possible golden age.
