As a french, this song hits me in the face when I heard it back when it was released... If you have time to check a good translation and explanation of the lyrics you should definitely check it because it's beyond your expectations.

As a French, this song hits hard and deep. It's a deep critic of society and French government. And if I remember correctly, this song was released around the time of the last presidential election. If you found an accurate translation of this song, your mind will be blown away. Orelsan is really a great rapper. (Just for fact, his artist name 'OrelSan' comes from 'Orel' which is a nickname for Aurélien (hisFrench first name) and 'san' is the japanese term of "Mr" (term of basic respect)). Once again, great reaction !

For the little French lesson for the rhymes he talks about "mongoles", an abbreviation of "mongolien" which designates in french people who are "not very intelligent" (to stay polite lol) so in his penultimate verse all the "mongoles" you hear are to designate stupid people. It is only at the end that he talks about the Mongolian people, drawing a parallel with the Maya, the Egyptians and the Greeks !

Don't look at the automatic subtitles; most of the time, they don't write what he's actually saying. Sometimes they write things that sound similar but are incorrect, often getting the words wrong, so it doesn't make any sense. And on top of that, they translate this nonsense into English. You need to find the real lyrics before listening.
