About me:
The smallest countryside, a beautiful childhood was my past. It is a glorious experience but remains like the memory of a past life.
Due to an endless wish, persistent effort, and a grateful companionship with my better half, I was able to create my little Brindavan in the outskirts of Hyderabad just as I dreamed.
We do not know if it was our mindset, but we managed to create Patnam lo Palleturu- Our little long lost village in the city.
We believe in living life and not in just Surviving.
I have come forward to have fun with you in a world of small and beautiful dreams.
This includes our home, beautiful garden, our Grandparents' food recipes, health tips, modern steps and the desire to share my thoughts with you.

అంతులేని కోరిక, భగీరథ ప్రయత్నం, తోడుగా నా జీవిత భాగస్వామి, వెరసి నేను కలలుగన్న బృందావనం కుటీరం హైదరాబాద్ నగరం చేరువలో.
మనసు పడ్డామా, మార్పుని కోరుకుంటున్నామా, ఏమో తెలియదు కానీ, మొత్తానికి పట్నంలో పల్లెను సృష్టించుకున్నాం. బ్రతికే యడం కాదు జీవిద్దాం అనే మా కోరికకు జీవం పోసుకున్నాం.
ఆర్భాటాలు లేని, అందమైన కలల ప్రపంచం లో మీతో కలసి ఆనందించాలని మీ ముందుకు వచ్చాను.
ఇందులో మా కుటీరం, అందమైన వనం, అమ్మమ్మ వంటలు ,ఆరోగ్య సూత్రాలు, ఆధునిక అడుగుల తో పాటు నా ఆలోచన స్రవంతిని మీతో పంచుకోవాలనే కోరికకు రూపమే ఈ కలగూరగంప.

You brought back so many long forgotten memories to me. I am from TN. 40yrs back we used to visit my kollu paati (great grand mother) and Ammamma(mother’s mom, same as you say) in the village during the summer holidays. She used to have a similar clay material cooling rack. It had two layers inside and they used to pour water on top like a tray. The water will seep onto the clay and keep the fruits and vegetables fresh. They led such a simple life back then. They had both gas stove as well as the wood burning and coal burning stoves. I used to visit the farms nearby and eat cucumbers straight from the plant. Coconut water was so yummy. They will drop the whole coconut inside the well. It will float on top and keep it cool. We will pull it out with buckets and enjoy. What a life! I miss them so much even after 50 years.

3 yrs back my daughter demonstrated same kind of experiment (Eco- friendly fridge)in her science exhibition in her 3rd class & she got 1st prize @ school level. But growing greeny leaf vegetables is an innovative idea & really wonderful.

Awesome. Casted this video on TV and watched it with children. I am partly aware of this method, though not for veggies but for milk. My mom used to keep boiled milk in a steel container into a wide earthen pot with some water. This is to prevent curdling of milk till the evening. This is an awesome video.

I did this in my school science experiment. This is around 15 years back.Feeling nostalgic.. we did this in a different process.. 1. Take a small flat tub 2. Pour sand 3. Wrap a jute bag around the pot a think layered 4. Add water to the jute bag till it is completely wet 5. Make sure you wet the jute bag wet daily twice.. and the water from jute bag collects in the sand tray(tub).. I named this experiment as "Poor man's Refrigerator" 😊

Where do you place the vegetables etc.? Inside the jute bag? Is the sand all around the jute bag? That is, do you bury the jute bag so that it is surrounded by sand?

iseeking ko - you need to wrap the jute bag around the pot and take a mug of water and slightly wet the jute bag make sure your pot lid is closed and also try not to allow water inside the pot. So the water from jute bag will collect in sand.
