I have found myself sitting between the 2 camps, Organic and synth. I like to consider myself organic, enriching my homemade compost with all natural products from DTE and Compost tea. I also like to grow different strains, and not every genetic requires the same thing in the same amounts. Ill use these other products to fix anything that's out of balance. Great video, love the energy you put into you presentations!! Can tell your very passionate about the field! Synganic.... i like it

It’s important for new organic growers to keep there soil moist/wet and less dry back. You never really want to see wilting in organic conditions

Organic isn't nearly as hard as you make it sound. Earthbox with BuildaSoil 3.0 soil. Top dress with Craft Blend 1 cup every 30 days from seed to harvest. Use Recharge or your favorite mico. Reuse the soil for 3 cycles. You will have great results. Yes, you can make it more complicated to "maximize" the plants potential, but you don't have to.

Best of both worlds. I'm using both throughout. It's important to keep in mind what amount of soluble and insoluble organics are being used. It's also really important not to use rock dust or anything with heavy metals like azomite when using synthetics. More specifically, chelated Edta nutes. With EDTA, the plant uptakes large amounts of heavy metals.

@@Godallmarley lol, that is just inexperience and confirmation bias. I will take that Amsterdam challenge and leave it up to the blind taste test every time. There is literally nothing happening in organics that it isn't happening with solubles, in the way of plant growth, except the stress factor of being in soil itself and having microbes first eat certain compounds and thus having to shit back them back out so your plant can have only a chance to uptake them. Good solubles have multi source nitrates higher number of essentials and micros with organic chelation from, Ethylenediaminetetraacetate (EDTA) Diethylenetriaminepentaacetate (DTPA) Ethylenediaminedihydroxy-phenylaceticacid (EDDHA) which guarantees uptake every time.

Been growing since...it was legalized in my state. I use 75g Grow Dots, Hand watering with Recharge once a week and tap water when needed in between. In 5G Rain Science Autoflower Bags filled with a 70/15/15 CannaCoco/WurmCase/Verm mix. Always autoflowers (I mentioned this same thing on Grambo's recent autoflower post), and always different strains. No problems. I have tried various soil/fert/potsize etc and this is my go to setup where I know it will work, and work well. Six plants fill my 5X5. I use Nukehead seeds also most of the time, not sure if DGC is aware of them. I vouch for them. I am using an organic for my autos I have been growing. They are working great but I use a lighter strength mix. They don’t seem to need the same amount of nutrients as the photos I have grown. I use Alaskan fish fertilizer, micro plus, and flower fuel. All brands are different, but they work very well together. I have made my own Jerry Springer spray, (colloidal silver), so once I have a few of my favorite fem auto seeds it is back to photos again. I might keep using the organic fertilizers for some plants. But there are some plants that I have grown you can throw as much nitrogen as you want to it and it doesn’t burn them. For the most part, I’ve used synthetics for them. When I grew blue dream every watering, I could hit them with very high nitrogen even through bloom. Potassium and phosphorus I just ran at my normal measurements and nitrogen I double up on until last three weeks of bloom. Great results but cost more in nutrients. I have also used blackstrap molasses for my Bloom stage. To my surprise, it works very good, but I did notice a sweeter different taste to my weed.

One of my biggest ask about organics is in true organics relying on the soil microbial populations, are there toxicities that will occur with certain nutrients in the system or is it more so a law of minimums like the barrel reference, where it’s only deficiencies that’ll occur based off what there is the lowest concentration of in your soil? Is it just specific nutes that’ll still be broken down by microbes into toxic levels? Are microbes still breaking down certain nutrients even in the absence of the specific exudates/sugars the roots will excrete in order for that nute to be broken down? Id love to imagine it’s a perfect balance where only what the plant needs willl be made available so long as it’s there to be broken down in soil based off of the exudates the plant produces, but I’d love to hear more before giving it a go. I’ve failed miserably 2 times with organics and never looked back but they were my literal first 2 grows… I love the consistency I achieve in my hydro set up but am interested at what I could do with maybe giving a soil recipe that’s been tried like Jeremy’s or Coots
@prestontingley89145 ай бұрын

I grow organically. I use Down To Earth amendments and create a super soil. I've come across an issue on my current grow that I can't figure out. My plants haven't grown almost at all this past week. I think it's because I topped dressed 5 weeks after placing my plants in there final home. I also noticed deficiency on the lowest set of leaves on 2 of my plants (appears to be potassium). I know it takes time for the amendments to break down and be available for the roots. I'm planning on flushing my soil tonight. Also thinking about adding some Recharge with the last gallon of the flush water for each plant. What are your thoughts Scotty??
@ScottyReal4205 ай бұрын
I would be careful flushing, if the pot becomes over watered it can make the potassium deficiency worse. plus with organics you can't just flush out the extra nutrition. Flushing could just cause over watering issues. It is best to figure out what caused the issue in the first place and correct that.
@isaacsantiago5455 ай бұрын
@@ScottyReal420 man Scotty, I wish I had waited for your response. I flushed about 12 hours before you replied. I flushed with 3 gal per plant. 2 gal of water and 1 gal with Recharge in it. I did notice new growth though as of last night. And all the new growth is lighter green compared to everything else. I didn't mention before that I had just topped and defoliated the lower growth of my plants a week before I had top dressed. So each plant only has 2 nodes. And, that I top dressed 5 weeks after I transplanted into the 7gal containers (final home). "Getting them ready for lst" Aside from the slow to no growth I was seeing, 2 of my plants showed signs of deficiency. Looked like Potassium deficiency. And as of last night, the tips of most of the leaves are curled downward (over watering im guessing??). Any advice would be great advice. Obviously, I won't be doing much to them since the soil is currently so moist. I was thinking about poking some holes in the soil with a shis kabob skewer to help get some oxygen in the root zone. But I'm afraid of damaging the roots.

I feel sorry for newbies tooo much science now with growing... My first plant was 1992..I use earth juice fertilizers with powder milk, molasses and Epsom salt.....in soil...I love my grows..such a great feeling getting stoned off something you grow your self..... Milk is soooooo old school no growers of today even talk on it...

Synthetics is a misnomer. It's more accurately to say Mined or refined. Salts are then optimizing through organic chemistry with chelation. There is only pure advantage with refined nutrients. The only fault is with the grower., learn to properly mix nutrients the real secret is to always be feeding, never let soil dry out (period) and always runoff 30% not a to not only flush resolidified salts but to replace the nutrient evacuated water (the ability to run off is a superpower not a disadvantage). You will have a better product when done right. The environmental impact is a lie most the red tide is from beach erosion after turbulent weather streaks. that and you can simply nock the excess nutrients out of suspension by raising the runoff waters PH over 10 then let it settle to the bottom before you dump or reuse. I just simply dump it on my lawn, the greenest in the neighbor hood.

I'm now two full years in on the same batch of soil. I run perpetual and I push the salts pretty hard. I attribute 90% of this to using recharge regularly.

That's awesome. I'm glad it's helping out in your garden!

Since the states are receiving all Canadas run off. We should be just fine using nothing but tap water and some coco. If it dont work just give it time.

So you use synthetics to correct imbalances in your organic soil? 🙄

Take your best soil, add some grow dots (reduced dosage) & follow up with recharge, silica and fish shit once weekly. Killer buds guaranteed - if everything else is tight and right
