Ok haha, a ton of you guys commented/messaged me letting me know what I did wrong with the thread winder. Apparantely there is a special slit for the bobbin which I didn't notice (oops!). It's great to know though and I'll definitely do that next time I need to wind some thread. Thanks to everyone who let me know!

My collection is an organized mess. I'm using a photo box from Micheal's and have them in smaller boxes in one big case where the smaller boxes are by color. However, I did not wind the threads onto anything, I just have them all shoved in little boxes still how they were originally wrapped. They will be staying an organized mess for the forseeable future since I can fit them all in one box for now.

I have done that so many times... there is no other way to do it, but bobbins by bobbins, one by one. If you have cats, they really love it. I don't do friendship bracelets anymore ´cause the thread hurt my fingers, I do crochet now, but I have a box at home with more then 300 of them... i have been doing them since I was 7 and I am 30 years young now :) love this so satisying

Those color gradients are beautiful! To use the bobbin winder, put the bobbin in the slit and then put the pin through the whole thing. To stop it from wobbling, attach to to an intersection rather than along one of the dividing pieces. That’s why there’s 4 slits on the bottom!

hi! i recently organized my bobbins and I found the most efficient way to wind them is by using a drill, I open the part where the drill bit would go off where you would usually stick the drill bit into and I stuck the bobbin in there. the drill kinda ruined the top of the bobbin because I put it in a big too tight but it works like a charm.

I remember, back in the day, I cut thousands of little bobins out of cardboard boxes so they wouldn't go to waste. It took such a long time! I also had a box like the one you have, and I made 1-2 bobins of each color I had, cause I had so many skeins of each color. The leftovers are to this day unbelievable. I haven't touched that in years and just got back to it early this morning with a sudden urge to make friendship bracelets. I'm this close to buying one of each available color of DMC pearl cotton :O. I shouldn't though, I should work with the massive amount of thread I have before XD.

Hey u prob wont see this but to things with the winder. 1.) the reason it is wiggly is because the "t" shape at the bottom of it is supposed to go on the side of the box and make it more secure. 2.) instead of putting the pin in the bobbin then putting the bobbing on the winder u r supposed to put the bobbin on the put the pink in both the holes. I hope this helps and if u don't understand just look up the winder on KZfaq and there are plenty of tutorials to follow. :)

Hi. I know this is old but I wanted to let you know you can actually use a power drill to wind bobbins. It’s super fast. You put the plastic bobbin into the spot where you would normally insert a drill bit and then just power it. It’s a few seconds per bobbin and no sore hand and arm from winding. :)

Marsha Knots, I learned a couple things, thank you. Whenever I'm watching a tutorial for making bracelets, usually they are tutorials for making lots of different kinds with thread & it's a lot of string & leather. Anyway, I'll get to my question, LOLO, as you can probably tell, I'm a novice.... so, is the twisted thread that you are calling craft cord, the core of like a lot of the bracelets.

The boxes that you didn’t use from amazon, I have the same one but I got mine from Walmart for three dolors and it is better than the one you bought from amazon

I haven't read through al the comments, but when you talked about the thread winder, you should place the bobbin inside the slot and then puch the blue plastic piece through the hole.So from the sides you should see blue from both sides of the hole, no bobbin colour.

I have the same case as you! I went shopping yesterday for threads and a case because my red thread ran out.

I took the thread winder and spread apart it with a knife and attached the part that you put the bobbin on inside of the tip of the drill and when you turn the drill on it winds them so much faster then by hand or with using the thread winder. Hope this helps
