With the Northwich Makerspace completed, Jonathan turned his attention towards stocking it with tools of all varieties, shapes and sizes! After getting his hands on some Ferrex Power Tools and woodworking tools for the drawers, Jonathan knew the only way he could ensure these tools stay organised and protected was by putting them all in Shadow Foam! Check out the projects and let us know what tools you'd like to see in the Northwich Maker Space!

hand tools: combo square, cabinet scraper, pressure roller, level, angle finder, and a set of tape measures from the same brand bought at the same time so that they will give consistent measurements

Great info about Shadowfoam and has given me ideas on organising my workshop. However, the lack of dust collection, mask, safety glasses and ear defenders is highly reckless and irresponsible. Makers on KZfaq must set a good example! Please make safety the number one priority in future.

There's no link to their website in the description (I assume it would be an affiliate link, so might want to sort that :) )

80-20 method is the best way to store tools. 80% of your tools organized 20% in piles of similar tools. The inherent problem with organization is that it comes at the expense of requiring too much space. Not all of your tools need to be separated 10 mm apart. For example spare sockets and wrenches are best piled unsorted in a drawer near the other sockets and wrenches. French cleat and kaizen foam is a bit of overkill, pick one.

Different strokes for different folks, I like organizing them 10mm apart so I can see every tool at the same time.

@@northwichmakerspace3305 I wonder if the 10mm spacing makes those 10mm sockets disappear more often.
