The Freedom From Religion Foundation says it wants the crosses removed because they are located on city property and claims that is a violation of the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment.

The 1st Amendment outlines the Establishment Clause and The 14th Amendment contains the Equal Treatment Clause. If a government body endorses a religion by hosting religious symbols (i.e. crosses, commandments, etc...), it is a clear statement that they favor that religion and those that follow said religion. By favoring a religion you place all who do not worship that religion or have no religion, in a second class position. By the government favoring specific citizens, this violates the Constitutional protections afforded to all citizens. There is nothing keeping these citizens from posting crosses on their own private property, but a government owned property cannot host or display any one religious symbol. They would have to also allow other religious symbols to be displayed from other religions next to theirs and given equal status and observability. When this has happened the consensus was to not allow any symbols and they were taken down.

That lady from the foundation looks like she lives for making others as miserable as herself

I've never understood why it's so difficult for religious fundamentalists to place religious symbolism on private property instead of public property.

Because the United States was 88% Christian years ago and we e fallen away and allowed the devil to get a foothold. How else could this country be so immoral, corrupt, and lawless? Spirit of anti christ is here. We are in the last days and just like days of Noah people go about thinking where is the promise of His comjng?? Did it ever occur He's waiting for that last person to say I will then all he'll is going to break loose. Dark dark days ahead and only those in Jesus will have eternal life.

@@julie1630 There were Christians among the Founders, but the key Founders who were most responsible for our founding documents and who had the most influence were theistic rationalists. It was not their intent to create a Christian nation.

@@julie1630 Your religious fairy tales have been saying we are in the 'last days' for thousands of years. Get over it. Your fairy tale religion is a hoax and your Jesus character isn't coming back. There is no heaven. There is no hell. This is the life we get. Stop believing in childish tales and grow up.

Well, that's why we have the Constitution. So religious fanatic majority can't trample everyone else with their fairy tales.

As long as it is private property and not government funded property, that's fine.
