Heather did you know that hobby lobby has these type of jars and if you only need one you can use a 40% coupon. And if you need more than one the sections of the stores go on sale regularly you can wait until that section goes on sale and every jar you buy is 40% sometimes 50% off.

Taking jars and putting on a shelf like for wine bottles means you can see each lid ( like the dividers in canning boxes but instead of squarish more like "x"). I label the lids. Makes it easy to determine what to pick.( sorry autocorrect changed/removed what I typed & I missed it)

This is very timely for me! I was just telling my daughters last night that I need to organize our medicinal meds where they make sense and can be reached easily. I'm a herbalist and have part of my pantry dedicated to herbs....an old curio cabinet painted black (glass sides) and holding my tinctures and salves....and an apothecary "small drawer " type cabinet with other herbs in it. Scattered! I need cold meds and anti-inflammatory blends on hand and easily reached. We don't use many OTC drugs now---an occasional ibuprofen or Tylenol for quick relief if need be--which is rare--which is the reason I allow it. Any time someone needs something I am called to the front lines to go find it. LOL Great organizational video. I am enjoying your channel and your FB group. I'm the "turkey pot pie" lady of recent FB group post fame. lol

@rough-hewnhomestead5737

@@babscountry7465 I will list some anti-inflammatory herbs here, but it matters what is causing your inflammation as to what might work best for you. I am on FB (Michele Nutter) and am happy to answer questions as best that I can if you're interested in contacting me there--you can friend request me, then we can private message. Some anti-inflammatory herbs are ginger, yarrow, cinnamon, and turmeric. Some of these can interact negatively with certain drugs and/or health conditions, so always do some research before consuming any herb in medicinal doses. Herbs can be taken as teas, capsules, tinctures, or just in water--down the hatch (although that is more difficult with certain herbs). Salves, lotions, and topical sprays can also be made for, well, topical use. ;) One thing you might do to learn more is watch reputable herbalists on YT (Dr. Patrick Jones from Homegrown Herbalist is one of my favorites). I'm happy to chat with you on FB if you'd like that. :) Best wishes!

@@babscountry7465 I would try regular use of some anti-inflammatory herbs such as ginger, turmeric, yarrow, cinnamon, etc. You can use them as teas, tinctures, capsules, or just add to water and swallow. Do remember to research for any contraindications with health conditions that you may have (BP issues, blood clotting factors, etc.) and any contraindications with meds that you may take. I'm always around to answer questions--just tag me. Best wishes!

Hello. I’m an old timer. I’ve been canning since I was 19. That was 46 years ago. I still can every year. I just canned pinto beans and also an entire turkey. I have gathered a lot of jars over the years. Interesting jars. Zinc lids, too. I’ve always used jars to hold stuff around the house. I’m rambling. I have a question I’ve been wanting to ask...... Why do people label what is in the jar since you can see what is in the jar? I could understand dating the contents on the jar.

My kids can't tell the difference between some of the leaf herbs and my cocoa powder looks the sane as hot cocoa mix but definitely doesn't taste the same. I make different blends of teas too and some look more a like than others.

Luckily these were all clean and in great shape but for rusty ones hot soapy water and then you can try lemon juice or vinegar on the rusty parts and then scrub to get it off. Depends on how bad they are but if they're super cheap, worth a try.

I have been contemplating getting rid of our sorry dishwasher but the amount of dishes I would have to wash makes me cringe. I can't keep up even having a dishwasher. We cook and bake all the time. I work a 40 hour week on computer at home. Any tips?
@MelissaKNorris
@MelissaKNorris 4 жыл бұрын
I wash as I go in the morning and afternoon, I work between 40 and 50 hours at home too so I feel you. At night, we rotate through the dinner dishes but the rule is all the dishes have to be done every night. This makes it easier to keep up. When I'm baking or cooking I wash the dishes as I go or as soon as I'm finished cooking/baking, I scrub less as the food comes off faster and easier this way too. Hope that helps!
