Idk if you will get this but I love these videos. I hate that you need that stuff, but as a chronic illness person myself I would rather watch this than organizing makeup or something. My mom had to do daily iv antibiotics for a horrible infection so I'm familiar with a lot of this stuff. I wish I had done this for her would have made my job caring for her a lot easier. Thanks for posting, being real and being you. ❤

Do you remember which shower cover you bought? I just got my picc line and they sent me the cheap disposable ones but I'm leary to use them. There's so many choices on amazon.

Omg we have house rabbits and pic c lines in common lol! Binky got on my bed sat on my shoulder and proceeded to try to chew through my line!!! close call!!!! I have a catheter too and that's his fave. blessings & hug from the UK

The little blue clamp is for clamping off a fluid line ☺️

I use peroxide for almost everything as it’s as powerful as bleach but not toxic. It’s also only like 80c at Walmart!

I have my PICC nurse coming in the morning for my first lesson and my supplies. She's going to come every week, do you not have a nurse who comes each week? How often are your supplies refilled ETA just saw it was a months supply

i know this is an old vider...but how did you get your picc line supplies? who set you up? i just got a line placed and no one set me up for anything. going to out patient infusion center but they are only able to give me weekly infusions, flush that day and weekly dressing changes. having a terrible time finding someone to help me with supplies so i can do my daily flushes. just ordered curos caps on amazon. :/

Why are infusions better than regular hydration? I was diagnosed with POTS two days ago and the cardiologist prescribed me a medication... He said that if it doesn’t work, there’s nothing more he could do... He also said that regular hydration is more effective than infusions so I was wondering what you know about it

It totally depends on the person, what other illnesses they have, or what the cause of their POTS is. In normal healthy people, hydrating orally is good enough. Some may need electrolyte drinks for workouts or hot days. Their body is able to absorb and retain the water and electrolytes they take in and use it to hydrate the body. Some POTS patients can also do this and just require more electrolyte drinks and water than average people. However some people like me who also also have EDS and gastroparesis are unable to retain the fluid and electrolytes they drink orally due to their digestive system not absorbing things/working properly. Because of that, the fluid and electrolytes tend to go right through me and I pee it all out instead of my body absorbing what I need properly. With IV fluids my body is able to use the hydration and it helps boost blood volume. So in short, it totally depends on the person! Definitely try all the meds first and see how that goes. I’m on a POTS medication that helps me so much! But if after trying meds and still haven’t improved enough I would find another doctor who is willing to explore other treatment options besides meds.
