I've done these for over 30 years and this method of melting the edges has been around for decades before that..they were 1st made for adornment for ladies gowns ..I used to get sheer curtains and sheer curtain scarves to cut and melt different sizes at thrift stores

I think it is interesting that crafters can come up with similar methods. This technique was new to me when I came up with it. I later learned it was not so unique. I am glad to make it popular. Thanks for sharing your history knowledge.

Beautiful!!! I've never seen flowers made this way before. And I havant seen a hair pin in 50 years!!! I saw a video recently where she used hair pins instead of paper clips to attach ephemera in her journals. They don't catch/tear paper. Seemed like a great idea! So I was going to buy some and try that out. Now I have a 2nd reason to buy them!! Cuz I'm definitely gonna do this!! It looks much faster & easier than making all those circles and cutting petals into them and then melting the petals!!! I've done it and it is SO time consuming. *** I imagine you could make a running stitch down center if you didn't have a hair pin??? *** I think you might be a bit of a GENIUS!!! Just saying!!! Thx for video. I've watched several today. I think I told you I'm a new subbie?!! Austin,TX USA

what kind of fabric is that ivory? it IS very pretty. and the butter fabric is just gorgeous. I had bought some organza awhile back for covering a junkjournal, but i didnt like it on the book, so i just put it to the side. now i will have to find it and make flowers. tfs
