What always fascinates me of origami is the how... How do they come up with something so intricate and so many steps to end up with the final model.
@JMsOrigamiTutorials6 жыл бұрын
It's mind blowing indeed! These guys like Hideo Komatsu are professional origami designers so they are spending all their hours on designer and calculating how to make a model, it's unbelievable
@JemmetGK6 жыл бұрын
It's true, the thought process of "let's see where this fold leads us" and going from there to the next fold and so on, to end up with something so intricately detailed, it just plain fascinating.

Understanding mathematics helps, or at least this is what Lang says
@caryreynolds11762 жыл бұрын
@@OriDMT On the other hand, John Montroll said he doesn't use mathematics in creating an origami, even though he's a mathematician (either does Kamiya, reportedly). Perhaps his innate knowledge of mathematics helps him subconsciously.
@DripApe Жыл бұрын
@@OriDMTmath is great even in things like chess it's the language of the what is and what shall be, but i think the professional mostly depend on thier muscle memory with a big map on folding lines, like when you start from the first step, he might be out there on his mind in the 100th step starting to think what could he get from this particular fold, a horse? a rose? a swan? it can be easier to imagine a thing from a late point and it depends on how experienced the individual is to work with it

Not sure if the videocreator will see this, I'm hoping you do, between 19:45 & 21:32 minutes into the video, I cannot figure out what you're folding, specifically at 20:51 min. when you push up the paper what folds are those from? I feel I keep missing some tiny fold or something, amazing figure! I love to do origami, so I'm determined to figure out that area of the video, thank you very much 🙂 And enjoy your day!
@JMsOrigamiTutorials2 жыл бұрын
You have to unsink twice. At 20:46 you see a fold on the part that is laying on the tabel, that fold should become a valley fold. But I can be done without this crease though it's just an indication. Push it out until it can't go any further. That's all I can help with

I´m actually using "Tissue paper" (which I bought in Ireland since I can´t find here in Spain lol), and is soooooo slim that I can see eeeevery fold from any of both sides, is almost transparent haha Translucid may I say. Btw, since is a pretty complicated figure, I´d suggest a less heavy/thick (less grams/cm^2/inch) than normal, so is thin and u can fold it better. Also, have in mind that you´d have to be way more gentle in every step (I´m atm at min 13:22 and took me 57min20s to get there (I´m measuring time hahaha). Good luck, be patient, and enjoy!! Some meditation music helps ;)
