I still like Aquaman more, but I much prefer Aqualad to Tempest, except his Rebirth origin is kinda weak. They vastly overcomplicated it when Young Justice already established a solid framework.

@@Tyler_W Tempest IS aqualad, at least he was, but no Garth is far superior to Kaldur. Edit: after more thing on this, I feel Kaldur and Garth are equally cool. Also I dont like Kaldur being bisexual, but it doesnt bother me too much.

Greyson was a scout boy i dont know why they dont make him gay and Tim drake was so... uninteresting tgat hes portraited by nothing. Artemis doesn’t have a long origin story considering she was created just for Young Justice, I’m pretty sure Green Arrow recruited her cause she was already so well trained by Sportsmaster after Roy quit in the pilot of the series

Point of history...in the original origin of Garth, he was banished because Purple eyes usually meant that the Atlantean born with them was unable to stay under water for more than 30 hours. In his case that did not apply as he was able to remain under water like any other Atlantean. HOWEVER, he had an unreasonable fear of fish and thus was unable to remain in the city and was sent to the surface where he was found by Aquaman. Aquaman helped him overcome his fear of fish and took him back to Atlantis. Garth, however would rather stay with Aquaman so only pretended to enter the city (putting his spare clothing on a fish and using his aquatic telepathy to instruct the fish to enter the city. Later, as Aquaman was musing about missing the boy, he presented himself to Aquaman and said that he was going to stay with him.

So Jackson and Kaldur are essentually the same character, just with different names. And now I know why Kaldur has those hilt devices, he already has the power to manipulate water, the hilts just help him focus it less destructively.

I HAVE SOMETHING SEPARATE TO SAY INVOLVING CHARACTER HERO (AQUA-LAD) Now I have noticed that there is more than one type of (AquaLad) ComicBook story, and to add more that one type of Origin Story for each one different type of (AquaLad) about them all. From the first original version of (AQUA-LAD) to the other different stories versions that came after the first version, and that includes the new story version that is about a bisexual (AquaLad) hero.

Good timing, I've just started the young justice series and feel like there's a lot of different stories that happened before this series started, I've already watched all the dcamu movies from flashpoint to DAW, still it feels like the series doesn't fit in that timeline, is there any other show or movie that I should see before I continue with this show? I see the Rebirth origin as both woke garbage (something I think DC does far less than Marvel, historically speaking) and just plain bad like a bad suit.

If he is gay or bi, whatever, but it's the way they did it and basically made "I'm gay" the introduction to the core of the character in his first appearance in DC Rebirth. Being gay isn't a defining characteristic that inherently speaks to someone's personality. He's in a better place where the story leaves him, but they did a really weak job introducing him when Young Justice already laid a solid foundation. He's just an Atlantean with hydrokinesis who becomes a pupil of Aquaman and didn't know his father was Black Manta. Easy and simple. Making it about pirate treasure and the Burmuda Triangle, at least the way it was attempted anyway, feels really forced.

Ravens powers in the original TT or how Artemis is a villain in comics but a hero in the show and it’s not pandering it’s just representation I don’t expect you to get this or at least admit it but for young kids who are lgbtq it’s nice to see someone like them on the tv shows they watch, yea gay kids watch superhero shows *shocker* and for the ones that aren’t it serves as a lesson that lgbtq folks are just like straight people, were all human

@@ShawnThaPrince also all you have to do is go look up Greg Weisman aqualad he’s talked about it multiple times but specifically on Twitter he was doing a QnA or something and someone asked if there were gonna be any lgbtq characters in young justice season 3 and he said “we already have lgbtq characters” which he later confirmed kaldur was included in keep in Mind this was before season 3 was even released and after kaldur was revealed to have a bf he said he took the opportunity since they were now on the dc universe app instead of CN

It's also a total gimmick to ride DC's wave of having long running comic series reach those unprecedented benchmark issues. There hasn't been an ongoing Marvel Comic in ages. It's just an issue they slapped a 1000 on to generate hype. Can't speak to the story, but they were probably wise to nix the "essay" by Mark Waid since it basically just said "America sucks."

Jackson Hyde's story is just like Little Mermaid 2 (Aqualad=Melody, his mom=Ariel, Aqualad even has a magic shell necklace that reveals a secret underwater kingdom) XD
