A look at the original announcement program for the R before it was redone for the 2010 budget cuts.
A mixture of recordings from 2009 to 2019 to give the clearest announcement recordings in the full program.
From Bay Ridge - 95 St to Forest Hills/ 71 avenue via 4 avenue Local / Broadway Local / Queens Blvd Local. Featuring the Brown M train , V train and the original station announcements.

A few months ago, I rode the R160 R train on my way to school, It's destination was 59th st - 4th avenue and it played the ORIGINAL "Manhattan Bound R Train" announcements

Two things, I am glad you noted that Cortlandt Street was closed at the time. By the time the R160's first ran on the (R) (Spring 2009), the announcement at Whitehall Street wasn't updated to reflect the transfer to the (1).

Wow, I didn’t even know R-160’s were on the (R) back in 2009. Probably from some fleet swap due to old fleets dying out. Go figure.. But anyways, it’s still cool to hear these announcements since the yucky modern announcement R160 (R) announcements are gonna be present more often due to CBTC on QBL.. ugh. Sucks.
