I love how full auto is a whole 180⁰ from semi. It's almost as if the rifle's asking, "ya sure you wanna go full send, buddy?"
@paulmalore8 ай бұрын
That's quite right. Even as a photographer, I much dislike to have 3 shots selected, having forgotten this, and getting a hiccup. Now, perhaps you don't know, automatic fire is (theoretically) forbidden by international agreements. So that the selector is usually blocked, and an intervention of the armoury man is needed, to unlock it.

@@gabe-tl7gyThis regulation was an explanation for peacetime rifle training in the NATO armies. Cold war time, I mean, but such regulations are seldom abrogated. Certainly you can check the current conventions, Geneva's notably, in army libraries. Though I lived for years not far from one, I didn't care to verify. Probably the notion can be traced back to the twenties. When demonstrations that involved war veterans occurred in Paris, in 1934, a minor fuss arose because "the characteristic tuf-tuf noise of some automatic rifle had been heard" newsmen reported. Note that the regulation applies to automatic rifles, neither sub-machine guns nor machine-guns. For these, probably you are restricted to the usual 5 cartridges at a time, anyway. Even so, I wouldn't like to have my home in the vicinity of a shooting range.

We had this gun in the Austrian🇦🇹 army too and we called it StG58 or Sturmgewehr 58. It was very accurate and I had the opportunity to shoot with it many times. After we got the Sturmgewehr 77 or AUG. Both are fantastic weapons to handle and shoot. The Gardebstallion in Vienna still has this FN for representative reasons. For example when a president from an other country comes and so on but the soldiers of the Gardebatallion have the STG77 or AUG too. Greetings from an old sergeant major of the Austrian 🇦🇹 Army! 😎👍💪🪖🍀🏔🐺

Thank you for your insight! Is the Stg 77 easier to handle weight wise compared to the Stg 58?
@wolfganggugelweith87608 ай бұрын
@@cumcumson5661 Yes. The StG 77 has only 3,6 Kilos and the FN 5 Kilos. Both empty. The StG 77 is a bulbup weapon and so it’s shorter but the barrel is longer as from the G36 from the Germans. I fought on exercises and marched so often and so much I never wanted an other weapon but I liked the FN too. The STG77 was more practicable I would say. I could take the STG77 apart without any tools. Everything worked smoothly and it jammed not often. The accuracy of my StG was fantastic and it was possible to shoot with both eyes open. There are always new versions which are modernized optics and grenade launchers and so on which we got in the Austrian 🇦🇹 Army.
